Chapter 12

Drew's seriously talking to Brittany. I can't believe him. I walk over and Drew just looks at me and Brittany says,

"So Drew was just telling me that you guys are over," she said smirking.

I looked at Drew and he wouldn't make eye contact.

"He invited me to hang out with him at his house later tonight," she said still smirking.

"Oh. I hope you have fun." I said fake smiling.

I start walking away when Drew grabs my arm and says,

"Lilah wait,"

"Don't call me that," I said getting out of his hold.

"Can we talk?" He said grabbing my arm again.

"No. Don't talk to me ever again," I say getting out of his hold again.

He doesn't grab my arm this time. I walk over to my friends before they can even say anything.

Ella walks up to the microphone and says,

"It's time to announce Homecoming King and Queen."

Everyone started clapping.

"So this year's Homecoming Prince and Princess are Jay Dawson and Jenna Slater."

Everyone started clapping again.

Noah and I yell "that's my best friend."

Then we start laughing.

Ella starts to speak again,

"So the moment you all have been waiting for this year's Homecoming King is drum roll please."

Noah and I look at each other.

"Drew Slater."

All the guys started clapping and screaming " my man."

I stood there and rolled my eyes.

"This year's Homecoming Queen is....drum roll please."

Brittany starts walking to the stage.

"Delilah Dawson."

I was in complete shock. I start walking to the stage and Noah screams,

"That's my girl."

Drew stood there and rolled his eyes.

Drew never liked Noah. I think he's jealous of him. But I don't know.

I finally get to the stage and they put the tiara on my head. And the sash around my body.

"This year's Homecoming King and Queen everyone," Ella says.

The music starts again and I don't even wait for Drew I just start walking off the stage.

I walked down and everyone is congratulating me.

"Congrats bestie," Jenna said smiling and giving me a big hug.

"Thanks you too. I'm gonna head out." I said smiling.

"Ok. Jay, I'm leaving with Delilah." Jenna screamed over the music. He nodded his head and kept dancing with his friends.

"You don't have to come," I said.

"We need girl talk I can tell there's something wrong," She said smiling.

We walked out the door.

"Wait how are we gonna get home?" I said.

"With these," She said dangling Drew's keys.

We got in the car.

"So what's going on?" She said

"Drew and I were fake dating," I said.

"Wait really? Why?" She said confused.

"Because I told him I'm scared because he doesn't have a good reputation. He said that we can fake date for a couple of months then when I trust him then we can date for real." I said.

"Oh, that makes sense. Anyway, continue." She said.

"So I heard you and Drew arguing last night. And he saw me after you left the room and we were talking and he said maybe it's best if we break up and I said maybe." I said.

My eyes started to water.

"Oh, I'm sorry I was just worried he's gonna break your heart. Jay's not that type. So I understand why you're ok with it but my brother has a reputation. Not a good one." Said looking at me for a split second until she looked back at the road.

"It's ok don't worry. Anyway, he said we can break up after the dance so we don't have to go alone. But everything was going good until he grabbed my hand in the car and I lost it."
I said.

I needed a breather because I started to cry again.

"Then he asked what was wrong and me being stubborn I said nothing and he was like I know you what's wrong and I told him that I have been waiting for this for a while and now that we have it you want to break up," I said.

"He said I know. You wanted to break up too. Don't blame this on me. And I said I only said I wanted to because I thought you did. Then he let go of my hand and looked irritated and didn't say a word the rest of the time. Then when we got there he ran in and didn't even wait for me and then I talked to you. Then I walked into the dance he was talking with Brittany," I said starting to get irritated instead of upset.

"He was seriously talking to Brittany?" She asked.

"Yep. I walked over and she says that Drew told her that we broke up and he invited her to his house later tonight. And I said oh I hope you have fun and walked away and he grabbed my arm and called me freaking Lilah then I said don't call me that. I got out of his grip and he grabbed my arm again and was like can we talk and I was pretty much like nope and walked away. Haven't talked to him since," I said.

"Good thing I wasn't around for I would have beat him up right there," Jenna said pulling into her driveway.

"That's true," I said laughing.

"So sleepover at my house?! I got a lot of ice cream.! We can even watch our favorite childhood movie," She said.

I looked at her confused.

"Dear Dumb Diary!" She screamed.

"Yes," I said.

"Maybe you can grab a bag of Jay's cheese puffs from his room," Jenna said laughing.

"I think he would kill me if I did," I said laughing.

We both got out of the car laughing so hard.
