"Jungkook... why are you crying?"
You should have gone over to him and helped him, every bone in your body told you to: but you didn't. Touching him only seemed like it led to more harm.
So he was gone. For good, this time. You hadn't seen him around that hall ever since, and as the weekend creeped closer, the coach was sure he'd find a replacement for him.
"No, Coach. We don't need a replacement. I'm dropping out."
And that was that. The recitals were now cancelled, which led to a free weekend. The show was now one of the first things on your mind, but you couldn't help it. The thought of you being on that stage in the city and representing your school with your best friend was making you sick now that you were going to miss out on it.
But he was too, and he didn't feel that way. So you shouldn't either.
"I heard about the show," Hoseok sighed, his arm around your shoulder reassuringly. "I'm really sorry about that. I bet it was devastating."
"I kind of expected it. I'm not blaming him, but Jungkook hasn't been turning up to class anyway." You drew your lips into a fine line and stared down the stairwell, eyes washed over by memories of you practicing together and acting like fools.
Gone.
"He's been in every Chem class so far with me? You sure he hasn't just moved seats?"
You shifted at this, now uncomfortable. "Seriously?" Hoseok hummed.
Of course he was still avoiding you. It'd been way over a week and soon would be week two, and still no sign of either of them.
"Taehyung too?" You muttered, not expecting him to catch on, but he did.
"No. I haven't seen him around here in a while."
Where is he?
You couldn't help but worry for him; want to reach out and hold him like a baby, like he was yours, but you didn't. You couldn't bring yourself to.
"Is he okay?"
You could feel Hoseok nodding on your shoulder, "Yep, I've been making sure."
"Hoseok?"
"Mhm?"
"Would you forgive me, if you were Taehyung?"
He was silent for a moment.
"Yes."
"Why?" You were surprised by that answer.
"Well, you didn't exactly kill my family or steal my car- you just kissed my best friend."
"But you love me. It's different, because I knew you did."
"Yeah," he started, huffing slightly as he sat up straight, initiating you to also. "But that was your choice. Your body, your lips. Some people might call you a 'slut' for that but in honesty, boys do the same all the time, plus, Jungkook did it."
"Wait, What?"
He raised a brow. "With his new girlfriend? Right after you, he got a girlfriend so quickly it was suspicious."
"And?"
"And... He's been talking to her for like, a month prior to you telling him about Taehyung. They even met up a couple times."
Wait
He...
"Are you serious?! Why didn't I know that!" You almost shouted, grabbing his arm. Hoseok looked panicked now, his eyes wide and filled with terror.
