Ethan POV
6:45. One hour and fifteen minutes left. For the past fourty five minutes, we've been running around everywhere trying to find Liam and Jacob. And finally we somehow end up in front of the house of Andrew. Me, Stan, Liam, Jacob and Ava. I still don't understand why we need to tag her along. Eventhough she's the one who help us gather together again. I still don't trust her. What if this is her plan all along? To gather us and make us suffer more. But I also can't help thinking, what if she's telling the truth? What if she's not really evil and don't have a choice but to be Hailey's puppet. She's been quiet after we watched that horrible video. I don't really know what she's thinking neither Stanley. He hasn't said a word either. I'm getting worried. "Hyung." Stanley said out of the blue. He didn't even look at me. "What?"
"Before we talk to Drew, can i ask you something?" I look at him, confused, unable to comprehend what he is doing right now. "I guess." I shrug. "How did you know that Drew and Hailey are related?" I saw Liam look at me and when our eyes meet, I saw a sad look in his eyes. I know he want things to go back the way they were but I guess we need time to do that. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. What the hell? Why is he asking that now? "Stan, now is-" he cut me off.
"Just answer the question, hyung." I pulled my hair frustratedly. I close my eyes and take a deep breath before I answer his question. "One time, I saw him talking to Hailey. I saw him shudder in fear while talking to her. That was the time before Hailey and Ava started targeting Claire. I was really confused as to why is he so afraid to Hailey." I glance at Stanley and he's just staring at Andrew's house with no expression.
"Not until I realized he knows everything. He's been missing out ever since the problem arises and yet he knows everything. Of course I didn't just accused him like that, he's still a friend to us, but he's starting to act weird."
"Yes, I also noticed Andrew's been acting weird. Sometimes he skipped class and he doesn't meet us often." Jacob said while slowly nodding.
When no one reacted to what Jacob said I continued explaining my side. "So I started investigating, one time I was asked to deliver papers in the principal's office. When I got there, no one's there so I started looking for some answers. But suddenly I heard the principal coming, so I tried to hide. I hid in the balcony. That time the principal call out Drew, when he came in that's where I found out that the principal is he's aunt. I never got to tell you because everything went like a flash. I didn't know what to do, I'm sorry, Stan."
He didn't said a word. He just stood there. We just stood there silently. Without uttering a single word. To be honest, each and everyone of us, are having a hard time dealing this kind of situation. We are just a bunch of kids fooling around, doing what we wanted to do in our life a few months ago, but now, we suddenly became mature. We suddenly in a situation where we need to make bigger choices and sacrifices. This is just ridiculous. We didn't sign up for this but life are at stake, friendship are too. Suddenly I felt like laughing like we are just filming a melodrama. But, honestly, I just felt like laughing it off like everything will stop if I laugh it off. I know I'm not just the only one who is having a serious breakdown here, everyone is. "Stan, I know that Andrew knew that hiding the fact will make thing worse but I also know that he doesn't mean to hide it that way. Not in the way it will hurt us. I know he wants to tell us but things got complicated." Jacob blurted it out of the blue. And it makes my thoughts go away for a second and come back in reality.
I saw Liam walk towards Stanley. He put his hand to his shoulder and smiles brightly like he always does. "Hyung. We were friends for a long time. All six of us. We have a strong bond. We're brothers, right? I know everything will work out in the end. We just need to stay together and be strong." I felt a warm feeling in my heart with Liam's words. He's always like this. Trying to hold us together everytime we felt like falling apart. Like a glue to the group. A smile curve in my mouth. And Stanley let out a small laugh. This is the first time I saw him laugh and smile after this situation broke out. I suddenly feel like soon everything will fall into pieces and all our worries will be gone.
