Another Shed Of Tears

Claire POV

I managed to sit down from laying in the ground while they're still talking. While Hailey's attention is still on theirs. I'm barely hanging here. Everything is painful and exhausting. I realized that Hailey's doing this because maybe she discovered Ava has a thing for Nico which is, I think she didn't take it as a good news. Because that leads us to here, why this is all happening. "Please, Hailey, this is not what we wanted. Let's not go this far." Ava said but Hailey just scoffs.

"This is not what you wanted? Are you sure about that? You know that the moment you contacted me, you know that this will happen. You wanted to have revenge, to this girl." she pointed me out. "Oh wait-.. right. Nico was never in the plan. The plan was to hurt Claire." She started trembling and tears started to fall down on her cheeks.

"No. I... I never plan to hurt Claire. Not like this. And so is Nico. I never plan to hurt the both of them. They are still my best friends. E-even that's all in the past now." Stanley and Ethan both looked at her. They both look shocked at what she said and so am I.

Hailey scoffs. "Best friends. Such a stupid word."

"So please.... we can still make things right."

"Make things right? You betrayed me! For this guy." Her voice sounds angry and frustrated. "It's too late. But you leave me no choice."

Hailey suddenly signals one of her men to get Nico up and that made us panic. "No. Nico-" I looked at him but he just smiled at me. "Everything will be okay." And that's what I hate about him, he always said that everything will be fine but it's not. Everything is not fine. How can he be so calm about this? How can he be not scared?

"No. Hailey, please, I'm begging you. What do you want me to do?" Ava pleads to Hailey. The way she is acting right now is one of the things she will never do in her life. Not to my knowledge. I know Ava to be a kind of person who will never let down her pride. About a few days ago they were in this together but now that Nico is involved I guess Ava has no choice. Same as before, we're still fighting because of him. We're still hurting him because of us. "What do I want? I want you to suffer. More than ever."

"Justin. Don't you ever think about Justin? Do you think that he would be happy if he's seeing this?" Hailey shudders when she hears the name Ava drop.

"Don't you ever bring him up here. You don't know anything."

"No. I was there. You promise him that you will be happy even though he's not here with you. You promise him that you will not be doing it again like before. You promise him, Hailey. That is his only wish."

"Shut up. Shut up. Shut up." She trembles in fear. I saw her body almost drop in weakness. Her hands tremble and she gasps for air. She held her hands in her temple and closes her eyes from time to time. The sight that Hailey can be vulnerable with just a name is so satisfying that I want to laugh right now. She's so terrifying that no one dares to approach her but seeing her right now makes me think that every person has it's own weakness even though it seems like she doesn't have one. I don't know if I should be happy seeing her like this or I should pity her. For all the things that she has done to me and now that she involves Nico, I don't think I can forgive her.

We all froze when we saw Hailey take out the knife out of something we didn't even saw where she get that because it was so fast and the situation is so tense. "H-Hailey.... what are you gonna do with that knife?" Ethan slowly walks towards her while distracting her with his question. "Y-you don't get what you want, Ava." Hailey shakes while still being emotionally unstable.
