Forbidden love

Thirteenth part

I woke up and had no idea what time it was. Archie was still sleeping next to me but it was bright outside. I checked the time and it was almost nine meaning we had overslept. Breakfast was at 8.40am and we were late. I punched Archie in the face with my pillow.
"What?!"
"We overslept, breakfast started twenty minutes ago"
"Shit, get up and get dressed"
"What about you?"
"We can't both come downstairs at the same time, people already think something is going on between us two"
"Why would they think that?"
"Because we suck at hiding it and we always act awkward around each other. Plus someone has probably seen us talking at some point"
"Well then, I should get dressed" I got out of bed and quickly got dressed. I practically ran to the elevator and hurried down to the breakfast area. A few people were still sitting there, including my friends and some leaders.
"Veronica, welcome down" one of our leaders said.
"Well, I think her migraine is better now. Right Veronica?" Rose said. I nodded in agreement.
"Yes, I feel so much better" I sat down next to my friends.
"What happened?" Gabriella asked.
"We overslept"
"Really? Stayed up late last night?" she continued asking, teasing me.
"Shut up, we forgot to set an alarm"
A few minutes later Archie came and sat down next to the leaders. I saw that they immediately started talking and soon they all looked over at. I quickly looked the other way so they wouldn't see that I was staring at them. Arizona, Rose and Gabriella had also noticed that they were talking about me.
"Do you think they know?" Arizona asked.
"Archie said that they sorta knew, I just don't want him to get in trouble" soon all the leaders, including Archie, got up and walked away.
"I have to know what's going on"
"No, Veronica, you will just make it worse" Gabriella said and grabbed my arm so I couldn't leave.
"This is all my fault"
"Veronica calm down, it's probably just about something that the leaders have to plan" Arizona said trying to calm me down. I smiled at her like to show her I was okay.
"I'm sorry guys, I'm not hungry anymore. Can we just go back to our room?" they all nodded and we got up and walked back to our room. I texted Archie asking him where he was. He answered saying that he was in another one of the leaders room so I walked over to his room to get all of my stuff. If the leaders was suspecting something I didn't want to give them proof. I took my bags back to our room and just seconds later someone knocked on the door. Rose went to open the door.
"Veronica, it's for you" I walked over to the door. Outside stood Archie.
"We need to talk"
"About?"
"Follow me to my room" I nodded at him and we walked together to his room. He started packing all of his things into his bag.
"Archie, what are you doing?!"
"This is what I wanted to talk to you about. The other leaders think that it's inappropriate that you and me are, well, something"
"So they're kicking you out?"
"No, I chose to leave to show that there was nothing going on. I don't want you to get in trouble"
"But if they already know then it's fine, right?"
"No, it's not! It's illegal!" Archie screamed at me. I took a step back slightly scared of him.
"Ronnie... I... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I'm sorry, but I have to go and you have to stay"
"I don't want you to leave" I could feel tears streaming down my face. I couldn't help it, I saw that Archie's eyes were shiny too. I have never seen him cry, but now he almost was.
"I don't wanna leave either Ronnie, but it's for the best" I started crying more to the point where my whole body was shaking. Archie pulled me into a tight hug and soon I could feel my body relax and stop shaking.
"I love you Veronica Lodge. You are the most amazing person ever. You're smart and funny and probably the nicest person out there. Any guy who doesn't see that isn't worthy of you, I hope you know that. You will get the life you want, a husband and kids. All of that, even if it isn't with me. I want you to live happily ever after even if it isn't with me okay?"
"Archie I don't want to-"
"Veronica, I don't care. I need you to promise me you'll be fine without me"
"I won't, I won't. I don't wanna be without you"
"Well you have to" he grabbed his bags and walked out. I ran after him.
"Archie, please, please don't leave!" Arizona, Rose and Gabriella came out of our room. They looked at me and saw my face covered in tears. They saw Archie walking away from me and they probably saw how much I actually loved him.
"Archie, don't walk away from me!" I screamed after him trying to get him to stop, but it was to late. He was already on his way down the elevator. I felt like my legs didn't hold me up anymore. Right before I felt like falling down I felt hands catch me. Rose and Arizona helped me carefully sit down on the floor. I leaned on Arizona while crying. They all hugged me.
"Shh, it'll get better, I promise" Gabriella said. But I didn't believe her. In that moment it didn't feel like it would ever get better, I wasn't even sure if I would ever see Archie again. That thought scared me more than anything in the world, I never wanted to lose Archie but now I had.

A/N: So I'm a very indecisive person but I've changed my mind again. The only reason why I was gonna take a break was because I had no inspiration. But now I all of a sudden know exactly what to write. For that reason I won't take a break and I'll start posting daily until this story is done!
