"S-sister?! W-what d-do you m-m-mean?" I asked. My voice was shaky out of fear.
"Oh? It seems Sheild did a number on your memory," he said. He picked up my chin in his fingers. "I am glad that you did that though. I was trapped in there after the battle of New York."
His raven black hair fell perfectly as he began to move his head around to examine me. I was still coughing.
"You're going to keep coughing. I need to see what happens when I don't leave the room," he says. He gives a mischievous smirk. A smirk that you know could only cause trouble.
"How did my baby sister grow up so quickly? Though, when I met you, you were only two," he rambled, "Oh, how your parents ----- you."
"I was surprised that mother never told us about you. Who knew that the next bearer of her powers would end up being a little Midgardian girl?" he continued to ramble while I helplessly coughed. His eyes burned through my skull as he looked at me with both jealousy, but also respect.
"To be honest, I only met you because I needed a backup source of power if the Tesseract wasn't going to last, but I grew to respect the situation you were in. -------- father, ------- mother. You just had it all going for you," he continued. Why were some words just buzzing? Like, there just always happened to be a bug censoring the words. Like my last name.
"Too bad Thor didn't know about you. He'd been all over you. He'd make sure I had no way of getting to you or your undiscovered potential."
"He would have taken you to Asgard immediately after meeting ------ and -----. I almost did, but I couldn't let Odin know I knew of you." Loki looked down solemnly and angry as he spoke. My body was growing weak. I could no longer hold myself up. I fell to the side. I could barely keep my eyes opened.
"H-help," I murmured. I raised my hand out to reach for him, but unconsciousness took over my body.
Darkness. Just pitch black darkness. Falling. I screamed, but only golden bubbles came out. 'Let me go!' I yelled. Nothing, except for dark green bubbles. This time I grabbed ahold of one of the large green bubbles. I pulled it closer to my pale face. It glowed in my grasp. It made this feeling well up inside. It felt so terrible. It was like when I saw Peter with Fawn. I felt envy for Fawn. I wanted Peter's affection. Jealousy. This was that feeling. I hated it.
I looked into the bubble. It was Loki. There were so many memories. So many feelings of jealousy.
Then, I did the only thing that made sense to me. I popped it. The splashes of goo landed on my arms. My arms absorbed it. I felt the jealousy he held. The want for his father's attention. The want for his brother's admiration. The want for what his brother had. But most importantly, the want for my powers.
I could see light. There was a light. It was Loki. He was crying. He had blue skin with red markings and horns. Dark green wings formed from my back. The light was growing fainter, but I wasn't going to give up on him. I flew up towards the ravened hair prince. I could see that all he wanted was recognition. We were alike. I felt empathetic towards him.
"I know you're hurting, Loki," I said, regaining my voice. No response. "I know what it feels like. To yearn for someone's love, when they just won't reciprocate." Still no response. "Please! Your light is flickering out!" I yelled. Still no response.
I did the one last thing I could think of. I hugged him. "Please. Don't let your soul flicker out. It's so beautiful and warm. So, many emotions. You can't just let go of them." I comforted him, "Queen Frigga would be very mad at me if I just let your soul go out."
His red eyes looked up at me as I said his mother's name. I held his cold cheek in my hand. "Every soul is so beautiful, so amazing, but so complex all at the same time," I said, "But most importantly, every soul has a soul mate and you haven't met yours yet. You need to meet them, Loki."
Tears welled up in his eyes once again as he held me closer. He nuzzled his head into my shoulder. "Thank you," he said as tears fell from his cheeks onto my shoulder.
His light shined brighter than ever before and it was blinding. His light filled the whole darkness as I woke up.
Pine: the color of jealousy.
