I Don't Trust Him

The girls and I were just having a 'Welcome Back' girls night with the addition of Hazel and Raven. They were now officially apart of the Inhuman Support Team!

"So... you and Parker, when did that start?" Raven asked.

"Yeah! I thought that you and Troy were cute, but you and Peter are super adorable together!" Hazel announced. My face turns a dark cherry red as my skin glows pink! The mention of Peter and I being super adorable together made me really happy, but also super embarrassed.

"Don't be silly guys! It's not like Petey likes me like that!" I yelled in embarrassment.

"Oh~! Did you just call him Petey~?" Anna asked while wiggling her eyebrows at me.

"W-what?! No, I didn't! Why would I call him that?!" I yelled once again in frustration.

"Oh my gosh~! She totally did~!" Leslie excitedly said, "I ship it!"

"Also, she didn't deny having a thing for him," Jazzy pointed out.

"Jazzy! I thought you were supposed to be the mature one!" I whined. I pouted my lip at her as I crossed my arms.

"And you still act like you're three," Jazzy smirks.

"So, how did you meet Peter?" Raven asked.

"It was a long time ago. He doesn't even remember it," I sighed. I explained how Peter and I met and how we were best friends. I even mentioned how we were "dating".

"Okay, this confirms it! We have to set you up with Peter!" Hazel declared in her normal high pitch voice.

"But Troy obviously has feelings for me and I think I like him too," I add in. It was true. I loved Troy too and didn't want to hurt him. I looked down at my fuzzy socks as I began thinking about both of them. My heart throbbed at the fact of hurting Troy, but it also hurt because I knew for a fact that Peter didn't feel the same way.

"Hey, ladies," someone said at the door. It was Michael?

"Why are you here Michael?" Hazel asked.

"Yeah, it's a girls night," Anna agreed.

"Well, I just heard all the laughing and yelling from downstairs," Michael explained, "I couldn't resist seeing what the commotion was all about!" He chuckled as he scratched the back of his neck.

"Well, I guess we could make an exception!" Anna declared. Her cheeks were flushed and her pupils were dilated. Did she have a thing for Michael? We all kinda just stared at her dumbfounded. "What? He's new! We should get to know him better!" Anna defended.

"Please?" Michael chuckled. I don't know what it was about him, but I didn't trust him. There was just something wrong with his eyes. They were lifeless, but also full of rage, somehow. People always say that the eyes are the windows to the soul. If that is true, his soul is broken and is being replaced by rage.

I looked up at him. How could he just fake being normal? How could he pretend that he was okay?  How could he pretend that he wasn't being filled with rage, anger, and hatred? Every time he looked at us, his eyes grew angrier. It scared me, to say the least.

"Sure, why not," Jazzy said. Could they not see it? Was I only one who could? Was I just seeing things?

The rest of the group nodded in agreement. Michael sat down in our disformed circle between me and Anna. Anna blushed a deep shade of pink as he sat down.

"So, what were you guys talking about before I came in?" Michael asked.

"We were talking about Everest's two crushes and which one she should pick," Raven informed.

"Oh, who do you have crushes on?" Michael elbowed me playfully.

"Peter and Troy. You've met them," Hazel said. I immediately blush at their names.

"Oh... I see," Michael said. His eyes were now full of disappointment. Why was he disappointed?

"How about we change subjects?" Anna suggests.

"Yeah! How about Truth or Dare?" Leslie exclaims.

We all agreed and we played spin the bottle version.

"Oh! Looks like the bottle landed on you, Michael! Truth or dare?" Raven asks excitedly.

"Uh... truth?" he says. It almost sounded like a question.

"Okay, which of us is your favorite?" Raven asks wiggling her eyebrows.

"Uh," his cheeks flushed on his pale skin, "I'd have to say Everest is my favorite." My eyes go wide at that. We had barely talked! I thought that Anna would be his favorite because they talked the most!

"Why?" Hazel urged on. I guess she couldn't tell that Anna was upset by the news.

"Uh, well. There's this feeling when I'm around her. It's kinda addicting, but I like it. It's like there's this glow around her constantly and I just want to bathe in it!" he explained. His words were odd. It was kind of like how I would expect someone to talk about drugs.

"Ooooh~! Looks like we have another candidate for your heart Everest~!" Leslie teased.

"And I'll win," I heard Michael murmur.
