There was one more, but I tried finding her account, so she either deleted it or it got deleted. :( -A Broken Sock
It was the next day, but I had barely gotten a wink of sleep. What the hell did he mean by,'And I'll win,'?
We were walking to the cafeteria for breakfast as usual, but I was falling behind. I was groggily walking behind Raven, Hazel, Anna, Leslie, and Jazzy.
"You guys should sit with us!" Hazel said excitedly. She began walking backward. Hazel was, annoyingly, a morning person.
"Yeah!" Anna agreed.
"Hey, ladies!" Michael said running up to us, "Hey, Everest!" He greeted me with a big dopey grin on his face. His shaggy hair bounced as he walked towards me. I could feel the jealousy radiating off of Anna. Wait, I thought she mentioned that she had someone at home? What happened to them?
"Hey," I sleepily replied.
"Woah! You sound sleepy. Did you even sleep last night?" Michael asked worriedly. What was he even talking about? Has he ever looked in a mirror? He had bags under his eyes that reached for miles, and let's not forget his frizzy hair! I had at least brushed my hair and put it into a ponytail!
His eyes were still lifeless and filling with rage, but whenever he was near me, he seemed to have feelings. Emotions that would spark like electricity in his silver-blue eyes.
"Hey, Michael! Do you m-maybe want to sit with us at breakfast?" Anna nervously asked the shaggy-haired boy. Her cheeks were dusted pink as her face heated.
He gave her a fake smile as he said, "Sure! I'd love to!" Anna returned a cheery smile as we walked into the cafeteria.
"Hey, guys! We saved you guys seats!" Troy called out. He already had his tray of food along with Peter and Ned. My heart fluttered as both Troy and Peter gave me sweet smiles.
"Thanks! We're going to go grab our food first though," I giggled. I don't know what it was about those two, but whenever they smile at me, I'm wide awake and full of energy!
We all grabbed our food. I had chosen toast, eggs, and milk; just the standard breakfast. I sauntered off to our table. Michael had also already reached the table with his breakfast as he chatted with the three other boys.
As he looked at Peter and Troy, his eyes seemed to glow with rage and jealousy. His face seemed to tense every time they spoke to him; as if they didn't deserve to talk to him.
As I walked up to the table, all of their attention turned towards me.
"How about you sit here?" Peter offered a seat right next to him. It was made so that I wasn't sitting next to Troy or Michael.
"Nah, you should sit here," Troy said, pointing to the end table seat that just happened to be closest to him and Ned.
"No, Everest. You should sit over here!" Michael argued. He patted the seat next to him. The boys all angrily glared at each other; except for Ned. He seemed to not really care.
"U-uh," I choked on my words as my cheeks flushed a light pink as I began to glow the same hue.
"Just sit!" Hazel nudged me towards Peter and I sat down. I began digging at my toast first. Peter seemed barely able to eat, which rose up some concerns.
"H-hey, it's your birthday soon, right?" Peter asked. How did he know? "January twenty-first, right? At least that's what you used to say when we were younger." He awkwardly chuckled.
"Wait, you remember that?" I questioned.
"Well, it's only bits and pieces, but I remember some of it," His face became a light pink as he spoke, "But it's only really because we talked about it yesterday."
"Wait! What parts do you remember?!" Anna asked excitedly. His face became a dark cherry red. I think I knew what he was thinking about. My face also became quite red as the other girls and Ned urged him on to inform them of our childhood together.
"Let's not talk about this," Michael interrupted. He had a scowl on his face and everyone immediately shut up. "Leave the past in the past. Plus, it obviously makes them both uncomfortable."
I looked up at him. His silver hues were looking angrily at Peter. Brown eyes met silver as both Peter and Michael jealously glared at each other.
"Guy, stop it," I calmly said, "Thanks, Michael, for standing up us. Also, Peter, I'm glad you're beginning to remember our childhood together, but don't feel pressured to talk about it." I gave them both warm smiles as they both blushed up at me.
"Wow, Everest. Who knew you could be the mature one?" Leslie remarks as she munches on some oatmeal.
"We've all got to grow up sometime," I commented back.
"Some of us later than others," Jazzy retorted. I stuck my tongue at her in a childish manner
...
We had finished breakfast, and it was off to chores we went. I was sweeping the roof. I was left there with nothing, but my thoughts.
"How come Peter is just now remembering?" I asked the nothingness.
"Probably because he's an idiot," a voice said behind me. I squeaked at the sudden sound.
I quickly turned around to be met with Michael's silver eyes. His eyes were full of jealousy and want as he looked at me.
"M-Michael? A-aren't you supposed to be in class?" I nervously asked him.
"Yeah, but I see no point in them when I could be spending my time with you," he casually said.
"B-but you got a scholarship! If you don't go to classes, they'll kick you out," I informed him. This wasn't like any normal public school, you had to attend classes!
"Like I care," he grunted, "I only care about you~" He grabbed ahold of my skinny forearm.
"W-what are you d-doing?" I stuttered out of fear. He came close to my ear.
"I could hack your inhibitor and we could run away together~" he suggestively whispered into my ear. I could feel his cold breath run down my neck as shivers went down my spine. "We'd be alone~. No Troy or Peter to interrupt us," he began to try to coax me.
"Wait!" I said pushing him off of me, "I don't like you like that! If you don't go away, I'll go tell Mr. Stark that you were suggesting breaking me out!"
"Like Mr. Stark would care, plus, why would he believe you. He's friends with my uncle and he wouldn't want to hurt that relationship with him," he countered. My skin shined a bright purple as he had me backed up in a metaphorical corner. I was frozen in place as he looked lustfully at me.
I began coughing as he came closer to me once again.
"That's right~. Sleep~. When you wake up, we'll have already left~," he whispered in my ear as I fell to the ground. I kept coughing and coughing until the wings forced out of my back. The sudden force caused me to scream in pain. They were bright purple. Purple: the Color of Fear.
"She won't be leaving!" a voice yelled. It came from the entry. It was Troy!
