(Anna)
I was awake again, but this time I decided to sit up. He knew I couldn't sleep forever. Plus, he hadn't killed me in my sleep, so I guess I could trust the guy a little bit.I groggily sat up, stretching out my neck. I noticed I was no longer in a suit, but in a knee length, white sundress and my hair now cascaded around my shoulders."So I see your powers consist of transforming one's clothes." I said mockingly.
He didn't even blink. "Good morning to you as well."
"Morning?!" I looked out the window. Had I really slept that long?
"Yes. Did I stutter?" His face was blank. He had his legs crossed and his hands clamped on his knee. His black hair was pushed back into a low ponytail so that every angle of his pale face could be seen. I didn't say a word. Just stared at him.
"We're almost there." He said, looking out the window.
"Almost where?" I looked out the other window.
He stayed silent, but I didn't ask again. If he didn't tell me the first time, he wouldn't tell me the second. After a few minutes, I remembered something. "What did you say your name was?" I asked lightly.
He looked at me, his eyes flashing. "Loki." He kept his gaze on me, as if waiting for a reaction.
"Okay." I nodded my head slightly, and then turned back to the window.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him shift in his seat. "Of Asgard." He said. I turned to look at him.
"And I'm Anna. Of New York." I raised and scrunched my eye brows.
He cocked his head. And then turned back to his window. I did the same.
About 15 minutes passed before he spoke again. "You honestly don't know who I am?" He leaned forward on his knees, eyebrows raised.
"No. Sorry." I pursed my lips. "Should I?"
"Well, yes." He held the bridge of his nose. "At least, I believe you should."
"Well, sorry to disappoint." So the man had an ego. Joy.
'So, five years ago, you knew nothing about New York being attacked? Nothing at all." He asked.
"I was kind of busy. And it's not like I was the go- to person to share gossip with." I crossed my arms. "New York was attacked? By what?"
"Me." He said, in a duh-factor sort of way.
I sat there with my mouth open, trying to find the words. I remembered that for a while years ago, I was left to my own devices in my cell. I would hear the guards sometimes talk about aliens or something.
And then I remembered.
"Loki...." I didn't look at him. "As in Thor's brother?"
He groaned in exasperation. "Yes." He said curtly.
"Oh." I swallowed.
I knew who he was. I knew more from my father than from the whispers I had caught fromt the guards or doctors. My dad had been in New Mexico when Thor had mysteriously dropped from the sky, soon bringing a raging, fiery metal monster after him, destroying most of the town. But Thor had saved my father's life. My father had seen the battle first hand, he was a Mythology professor at NYU. So when a Norse God comes thundering from the sky, my father knew about it. He knew that Loki had made the metal monster attack his brother, nearly killing him.
I vaguely knew that New York had been attacked. But I was kept so far out of the loop that it didn't have much effect on me. But I remember the panic. And the relief I felt when they left me alone for a while. I had this man to thank for that.
But I also remember the damage that had been done. I remember seeing the TV screens when they took me to and from my cell.
This guy wasn't kidding. Hell, this guy was a Norse God. Shit, I was screwed.
And all I could think to say was, "Well, my dad would have loved to meet you."
Idiot.
