(Anna)
"Them? They are our mothers?"
Loki kept his eyes on them as he nodded his head once.
They were both still screaming and kicking, even though they had stopped walking. They kept yelling for the guards to let them go.
"Loki! What in Valhalla is going on?! What are you doing?" Lady Maleah yelled, eyes wild.
"Just here for a nice chat, is all. Mother." Loki spat. Lady Maleah stopped struggling, her face going slack. Mrs. Anderson continued to struggle, her usally neat hair a wild mess. "You know, it all makes sense now, " Loki continued. "Why you always seemed so fond of me."
"I just wanted to protect you, child." Lady Maleah said softly.
"Don't feed me your lies. You are not my mother. My mother was murdered. And I'd take her over you any day." he said angrily.
I stared at Mrs. Anderson. "Let me go!" She yelled.
"Helnara, will you stop already. They know." Lady Maleah growled at Mrs. Anderson.
She finally settled down. "You told him too much, didn't you Maleathiga?" I understood now that they were using each others' demon names. She turned her attention angrily to Loki, her eyes quickly finding mine before settling on his. "Why did you bring us here, you little quip?"
Loki moved menacingly toward her, grabbing her throat, contricting her air. "You are in no position to insult." He pushed her away, her head hitting the chest plate of the guard that steadily held her. "And you both know perfectly well why you are here."
"Loki, I'm begging you. Don't do this." Lady Maleah said.
"Do what? What are you going to do?" I finally found my voice.
"He's going to break the spell." Thor said, coming to stand at my side for a moment, before going over to Lady Maleah, and whispering something in her ear. She looked at Thor sadly when he was finished, and she nodded, and whispered something back. All that I heard from where I stood was her saying, "You don't know if he's the right one."
Thor walked back over to me, putting an arm around my shoulder. Loki looked at Laufey and nodded.
He suddenly turned to me and his brother, and ran up to us.
Thor and Loki embraced in a fierce hug, which worried me.
"Loki?" I asked softly. He wasn't telling me something.
He let go of his brother slowly, and came over to me, taking my face in his hands. I held on to the lapels of his jacket and pushed his forehead against mine. "What aren't you telling me?" I asked softly.
He looked in my eyes, brushing my hair like he liked to do. "Don't worry, love." He smiled sadly and swallowed visibly. "It just might hurt a bit, is all. And I don't know exactly what will happen afterwards." He choked on the last word. "But you must trust me." He leaned back, studying my face.
He was scaring me.
He let go of me slowly, taking my hand in his and kissing it sweetly before walking back towards the middle of the two groups, the demons and the Frost-giants.
I didn't even care that Mrs. Anderson was my blood mother. It didn't matter. Because I wanted to kill her. She was the instigator of all that had happened to me, the Queen among pawns. She was a leader of Hydra.
But why had she told me not to kill Loki?
I was trying to put the pieces together, when Thor put his arm back around me, folding me in a side-ways hug. Why did he keep doing that?
Loki turned to face Laufey, who grinned terribly.
I tried to run to him the moment Laufey's hand turned into a giant knife.
"NO!" I screamed, as Thor wrapped his arms around me, keeping me still.
I saw, almost as if in slow motion as Laufey pulled his arm back, revenge covering his face and aiming right for Loki's heart. My Loki.
I kept screaming, yelling for Loki, yelling for him to stop. What was he doing? He was just going to let himself be killed?!
I watched in terror as Laufey plunged his weapon towards Loki.
We all froze when the weapon shattered into a million little pieces, just inches from Loki's heaving chest.
Harry, a bow and arrow in his hands, and his calvary behind him, were here.
