"So, you had to erase her memory?" Mother asked, putting a small bite of sushi in her mouth and chewing.

"Unfortuneately." I sighed. "But she is even more leathal than Barnes ever will be. More stable too, I'd say. Her training is going extremely well."

"Have you put her against The Four yet?" She asked, grabbing her glass of wine.

"You mean her brothers? No, not yet. But she does have the strength to beat dozens of our best men at the same time."

"They are not her brothers." Mother said angrily.

It took me aback for a moment. "Sorry. I suppose not, but that is the best way to describe them." I took a bite of my own food. "I've always wanted to ask you," I said, my mouth full of half-chewed food. "I know you've kept tabs on her all these years. How'd you ever find her in the first place? And what about her real parents?"

Mother daintily wiped her mouth, careful not to smudge her lipstick. "Finding her was easy. You know my capabilitites are similar to yours, my dear. My senses are attracted to those with capabilites, and Anna had many. I simply kept and eye on her until we felt that we were ready for use of her. As for her real parents, that doesn't matter." Her voice seemed to change pitch on the last sentence.

"Why all the experiments though?" I picked at my teeth. "Why not just do what we are doing now?"

"It was two parts of the same plan. I wanted to see exactly what she was capable of, what she could endure. And then I wanted to see if we could replicate that in others, make and invincible army. Just think of the possibilities! And it was all part of the plan for Loki to come and take her."

I nearly choked on my drink. "I beg your pardon?" I had went through hell and back to get that stupid girl back. And now, my mother was telling me that it had all been a part of her grand scheme?

"You heard me. I knew Loki was just itching to get his hands on something to hurt SHEILD, and I practically led him right to the girl. And the events that followed made the perfect catalyst for where we are now." She smiled slyly at me.

I smiled back, only slightly angry at my mother. How could I be furious with such a brilliant mind. "I will marry her." I said, thoughtfully. "She will be my queen on the throne of this wretched world."

"Oh, no, Sweetheart. You can't marry her." Mother said, getting up from her seat.

"And why ever not?" I got up as well, blocking her path out of the room.

"Because your related." She patted my cheek and walked around me.
