(Anna)
I was re-reading the same book for the third time now.
It was some sort of Norse fairytale, and it was beautiful. It was so different from Earth's fairytales.
I looked up when I heard the doors open. Somewhere inside me, I hoped it was Loki. But I pushed that hope way down inside me. It was a ridiculous and dangerous and ultimately stupid thought.
It wasn't Loki who had come to visit, but a very, very large man. He was at least seven feet tall, with huge muscles that were covered in intricate tattoos and scars. His face looked to be in a permanent angry state, and there was a scar that cut from his hair line, through his left eye, and down to his jaw.
He was terrifying.
He walked up to the shimmering wall of my cell and stopped. "Get up." he commanded.
I couldn't have stood up fast enough.
"King Loki tells me that in due time, I am to train you and make you a warrior." my eyes widened. "You will lead the armies of Asgard to victory on Midgard, taking over the insects known as SHIElD." His voice was a growl, low and menacing.
"I doubt I have much say in the matter." I said.
He laughed loudly, "I don't know why the King chose you, or even brought you here. But if I can't turn you into at least a knife thrower, at least you'll make a good punching bag." He laughed again.
I tried to keep my face blank, but knew I was unsuccessful. Loki apparently saw me as a warrior, a warmonger, but this man saw me as a toy, a tool. He saw me as the little girl I appeared to be.
The next thing I knew, the shimmering wall in front of me vanished. I looked at the large man in puzzlement. "Let's see it then." he said, whipping out a huge sword from behind his back.
I lightly stepped out of the cell and onto the dark floor of the room.
"Tell you what, I'll give you one free punch. No charge.' He slapped his jaw and stuck his face out at me. "Come on, right here sweet heart." He said mockingly, attempting to coo at me. I slowly walked up to him. He was so much taller than I was. And better dressed for a fight.
But that didn't matter.
Before he knew what was coming, I jumped and punched him square in the jaw, making him real a few feet back. He looked at me in bewilderment.
I simply smiled.
I ran at him full force, and then slid in between his legs, grabbing one of them as I went. I stood up while he was on his way down, and punched him in the chest. He slammed to the ground with a groan. I waited for him to open his eyes and look at me.
And then I kicked him in the face, knocking him out cold.
"Guards!" I yelled, and immediately the doors opened and four guards stormed in the room. The moment they saw big-man unconsious on the floor, two of them ran at me. I didn't struggle, but they still held on to me for dear life. They literally threw me back in my cell, and put the shimmering wall back up. I slowly got to my feet, just in time to see the guards dragging my opponent out the door.
Once the doors were shut and I was once again left alone, I looked down at my hands. They were bloody and broken. I took a deep breath and the bones began to mend back into their normal form, the wounds closing on my knuckles.
I tried not to scream out in pain.
**************
This time it really was Loki who came to visit.
"What in all of Valhalla?!" he screamed.
I laughed. "Tha's not very menacing. You could at least adopt the term 'hell", it would make your words sound angrier." I didn't move from the spot where I was sitting.
That was until Loki removed the shimmering wall, and stormed into my cell, his face beyond angry. Then I shot to my feet and tried to get as far away from him as possible. But it wasn't enough. He soon had me pinned against the wall, his forearm on my neck, constricting my air, and his other arm pinning my own painfully behind my back.
His face was right against mine, but I couldn't meet his eyes. "You knocked out Borin. The man is STILL unconsious." He pushed harder against my throat. "How 'the hell' did you get out of this cell?"
I rolled my eyes, "The same way you got in." I weezed. "He opened the magical cage." I spat.
He twisted my arm even more. I tried not the yell out in pain. "How dare you use your powers against one of my men. How. Dare. You." He was impossibly close to my face.
"I didn't use my powers," I tried to push back. "It was good ol' hand to hand combat." I tried shaking my head away from his grasp.
"And you decided it was a good idea to fight the biggest man, and the best warrior in Asgard because," he drug out the last word.
"Because," I tried to swallow. "He called me Sweetheart."
