"I almost forgot how sexy you look when using your powers." Theo spoke into the air.
I didn't acknowledge him at all. But I wanted too. I wasn't sure what I would've said though. Would I have told him not too say things like that?
Would I have told him thank you?
I ignored my thoughts and reached out for the door. Grabbing the Golden nob and turning it.
The door creaked open to show the entire room. There seemed to be nothing there but dark blue walls. But I knew that there was so much more than just that.
"Lacey?! What the hell is this?" I heard my dads voice. His eyes were filled with anger and frustration. Walking through the room, then his eyes landed on theo, who apparently followed me through
"Theo. I swear, if you don't get away from my daughter and out of my goddam house I will shove more bullets in you before you can blink and eye." Dad threatened. Theo was about to say something back, I just knew it.
"Dad stop." I said. Holding my hands out and walking in front of Theo for he could say something stupid. Was I protecting him? Defending? I wasn't entirely sure. All I knew was that I didn't want him to die again. Not at all.
Dad squinted his eyes at me and seemed taken back.
"Are you protecting him? After everything he's done to you? To the family?!" He shouts at me. I knew they wouldn't be able to understand. Nobody can. But I can't lose Theo again.
While I was about to speak. I saw a board standing behind my dad, in the back corner of the wall. It had a picture of Theo on it with a speeding ticket...
The ticket.
More and more pictures appeared. Lines of red string attaching all of them together. Different colored pins sticking them to the cork.
"Dad look." I pointed towards the board and walked too it.
I brought my hands up and felt the board.
This was Stiles's crime board. I can remember all the nights we stayed up just looking at this thing. Trying to figure it all out.
I didn't look back to dad or Theo, because as soon as I felt the board, I stepped on a wad of yarn. Looking down, it was bunched up and bright red. The same yarn stiles used.
When I picked it up. Everything came into place one by one. All of his nick-nacks appeared on the dresser. Then his bed. The lacrosse gear. Everything. Everything came into place.
"Dad. This is it. This is Stiles's room. He's real I promise. I even saw him today. He's alive, you just need to believe me." I begged. He looked at me with a shocked expression, then walked around the room.
                              "Lace, lovie. There's nothing here."
His words hit me like a brick wall.
Nothing here??
How is there nothing here! Everything is right in front of his face! Why won't he try to believe me!!?
Mom. The bitch who's pretending to be my mom is filling up the void. She's the reason he isn't remembering. Because if she's alive, then he won't have anything to remember....
I looked around the room to find stiles jersey. As soon as I did, I picked it up and stared at it. Just stared with water forming in my eyes.
Tears started to fall, one after another as I clung onto my brothers jersey. I felt movement around the room as a hand slid around my back, and wrapped around my waist, then another hand gripping the other side.
Theo.
I didn't protest. Because it felt good. I knew that I should have though. Because this is wrong. If Liam is my soulmate. And I share the bonding mark with him, then why can I feel this way towards Theo?
"Dad." I spoke out, trying not to get choked back
"You need to listen to me. Mom, is not mom." I said. Tears rolling down my face, one after another as Theo's hold on me tightened.
"What do you mean she's not 'mom' ? That's your mother." He said, ignoring the fact of how close Theo and I are right now.
                              "Dad. No she's not because...-"
God, please be with me right now.
"Because mom died 9 years ago. She had dementia, and it killed her."
"Lacey. Stop talking like that. Your mother is alive! How could she be dead?!" He shouted. Walking around the room and digging his hands through his hair. Pacing.
"Mom died, 9 years ago. And you had to raise stiles and I by yourself. You need to remember. You won't because your scared. But you need to let go." I said. And just as I said it, I tossed the lacrosse jersey over to him. And just as surprising as it was, he caught it.
"What in the world..." he whispered to himself. And I don't think I've ever smiled so big in my entire life.
"Look dad! That's his jersey. He was on the team but he was the worst possible player they could ever have!" I shout in excitement. Nagging at the jersey and the rest of his gear. Then moving onto the crime board
"This! This was his crime board that he stole from the station! Remember all of the nights we spent just staring at this thing and trying to piece it all together?!"
Dads eyes followed me around the room as I pointed out every single little detail. And his hands just playing with the fabric of the jersey.
"And his bed. His desk, everything! It all ties together! It always ties together dad! He's real and you need to remember him in order to bring him back." With the amount of tears I had cried out, I would have filled an ocean by now.
Dad was looking at me now. But not the way I hoped he would. He was confused, and sad almost. Like he didn't know what to think.
"Dad?" I called out with a weak and raspy voice.
He simply looked around the room. Searching for something else that he could find. But he didn't see it. He didn't see anything but the clothing in his hand.
"Find me, when you piece it all together." I said. Grabbing the red yard and slamming it in his palms. He grabbed onto it with a shock and looked at me.
I wanted to look away, but instead I stared straight into his eyes as he looked like he was on the verge of a breakdown. So I simply walked out of the room. Knowing Theo would follow me. And knowing that dad would remember tonight. Tonight would be the night he remembers everything.
"Hey." Theo spoke from behind me as I stopped and looked around. I had already stormed out and into the middle of the street. Theo was standing on the sidewalk as the wind blew furiously past us.
"Why did you come to see me?" I asked, yelling over the wind. Afraid to hear the answer.
His body tended and he took his hands out of his pockets as he walked closer to me, stepping off of the sidewalk and into the middle of the street where I stood.
"I had too. Because you were the only thing on my mind as I was stuck down there. You pulled me through. And whether you feel the same thing or not. I love you Lacey. I am in love with you. We've always had some kind of understanding, and I chose you Lacey. I will always choose you." He said, walking closer to me, landing his hands on my body and tugging me towards him.
To say that I was speechless was an understatement. I didn't know how to say anything. I didn't know words, for that matter.
His hands moved from my waist and traveled up till he with cupping my face with both of his hands.
"But I came because I also knew, that you feel something for me too. Whether your blocking it or not. It's there, and I'd be willing to fight for that any day. As long as I get to have you."
What does a girl (with a boyfriend) do in this situation? When she's tied down between the love of her life, and a different man who's leading up to that title as well. What do you do?
What would you do?
                              Well you shouldn't kiss.
But that didn't stop him.
