She holds my hand
And reminds me of puppy love

She cries with laughter
At a dumb joke

And reminds me of hysterical, passionate love

She yells in a crowd
And reminds me of spontaneous love

She kisses him with tongue
And reminds me I'm not her girlfriend

She talks to him, in a lowered tone

Almost scared
But more tired

And reminds me that I could treat her so much better

A sad hug shows me that he is what she wants

A sigh as we walk away tells me it's not working out

A small but smug smile overtakes me
As everything I've ever wanted seems within reach

But everything comes crashing down

A sad reminder

That she doesn't love me back.

And I just have to make it ok

And I will

She reminds me that our friendship is worth so much more

Without her even knowing
