She stares off into the distance
She stares off
As they walk
She stares off

She stares off
In the same direction
The same exact place
Everyday
And
She stares off
When going to and fro
With little explanation
But if
You nicely ask
Perhaps
In an
Alternate universe
And
Completely different dimension
She'll
Politely lie
And say
That way leads to home
And is worthy of a glare
But that's not the truth
So
I'll say it
Only right here
& now
She stares in that direction
As she strays from friends
She stares at the scout hall
And thinks
About sitting on the roof
A beer in hand
Or just something cool
Against the hot metal
On a summers day
Overlooking the houses
And traffic
And she dreams
Of sitting there
With someone
Beautiful and complete
Someone who she loves
And loves enough
To throw around
Words like fate
Even though it would never be
She thinks
That if she stares
And dreams
Maybe one day
They'll be looking back too
But that won't happen
So she puts it to rest
For the day
And sits down
Now a part of the pack
But not there
As she's staring again
Now at Mount Disappointment
As narcissists think it is so aptly named
And dreams
About another dream girl
And how they'd hike up
And tell jokes
And laugh
Breathlessly
She dreams about staring out
From the top
Even alone
And
Ever so half heartedly
Disappointed
Because
People can't see the beauty
And
Can't sing the love she has
Buts it's just a dream
She has none of that
Really
And for the most part
Thinks it's dumb
But
Most isn't all
And there
There are still parts
That lead astray
And stare off
Daydreaming
Hoping to find love
In a day
Or
One day
At least
And to have it perfect
Even if it doesnt exist
And
Is
Only
In
Her dreams
Or
Mine
As you could say it
