22:30
In just half an hour 2 section and special forces would be breaching a compound that is rigged with explosives.

They were all dressed in full kit and ready to go when Captain James ordered for them all to get on the truck. As they left the FOB and headed for the dark roads of the unknown; nerves flew amongst them all.

Special forces were arriving by helicopter "Charlie Fire Team this is Delta Fire Team ready to initiate phase 1 over?" As 2 section approached the target compound James pressed his radio "All call signs initiate phase 1 over!" Peanuts stared out of the helicopter "Roger that!" He then turned to his men "Prepare to move guys! Dropping down in 3!" Like a scene from "Mission Impossible" Spanner and Peanuts dropped from the helicopter by rope and landed just centimetres from the front of the compound. Spanner lowered his tone so as not to be heard "Delta Fire Team on the ground over" he crouched forward as a sentry guard spun around. Suddenly, there was a hail of bullets exchanged as special forces wiped out the guards, narrowly dodging the incoming bullets. "Phase 1 complete prepare for Phase 2!" Spanner announced. James turned to his section "Prepare to move....MOVE!" 2 section hurried out of the truck and crouched on the ground covering all angles incase they came under attack. James radioed to special forces to make sure they were ready for 2 section to breach the compound. James placed an explosive device on the wall "BREACH!" He shouted as everyone ducked and the wall shattered outwards in a plume of smoke and fire. This alerted other guards inside the compound but they were instantly wiped out by special forces. The mission was going too well by anyone's standards: no casualties, no attackers and they had discovered the explosives already.

Wrong. The depo was empty. "Fuck!" Captain James cried as he noticed a van accelerating away into the distance. "They knew we were coming!" Monk shouted. "And what exactly do we do now, those explosives will be in dangerous hands!" Everyone knew that the mission had been a huge failure. Georgie called over her Captain "A word please boss" he walked over as she whispered in his ear "I thought Bones was meant to be involved and helping us?" Captain James agreed and he couldn't understand it either. "I guess we are on our own for this one Lane." He replied feeling useless.

"So what are we going to do?" Everyone was burning to ask the same question. James, as captain, made a brash decision "Our only option is to go after that van. We can't afford to let this one slip through and have a mass of explosives in anyone's hands." James said what everyone was thinking and although it would be dangerous everyone was of the same mindset.

Spanner ran over to James "Boss I remember Bones saying about a tracker being on the van. We should be able to tap in and find it." Spanner was the technology guy and before they knew it they had a blue tracker running across the computer screen showing the exact location of the van. James sighed in relief, they finally had a lead to go on. This was a start.

In minutes, everyone had clambered back on to the truck "Richards take the next left!" James ordered from the back. "But boss the van went straight" Maisie argued "Don't question it Richards if we turn here we can catch up with it!" James replied in a very authoritative tone that caused Maisie to shut up.

Eventually, the truck carrying 2 section and special forces was right behind the target van. Special forces decided to get out of the truck and run ahead so that they could shoot at the van as it approached them - the roads were just too slow and the truck could not get in front to stop the vehicle. Peanuts and Spanner couched down in a shrub on the side of the road; they saw the van slowly turn the corner and began shooting at the wheels and windscreen. There was an exchange of gunfire before Georgie heard an all too familiar call down her radio.

"SPECIAL FORCES MAN DOWN! MEDIC!" Those words rang through Georgie's mind as she grabbed her medical bag and ran from the truck. The last time she had heard those words was when the love of her life, Elvis, was killed by an explosion in Afghanistan - right after they had got their rocky relationship back on track. Her head was spinning with the memories that the call had unearthed.

But she had a job to do.
