Chapter 14: It wasn't a date

"So the party this Saturday, what's it for again?" Tristan asked.

The guys turned to face Aiden sitting beside me and he took a sip from his drink before speaking. "Something for my dad's company."

It was Wednesday today and we were at Caiden's place after school. The boys and I were playing games and eating pizza. I looked at Aiden and my whole body tingled at the memory of Monday night. Aiden seemed to act normal the next morning so there was no awkwardness between us anymore.

Caiden quirked a brow curiously. "Isn't that risky given that him and his company are in danger. You know with all the threats and the shooting..." Caiden trailed off.

A frown etched across Aiden's face and his eyes hardened. My gaze locked with his and we both knew none of the boys were aware of how dangerous the situation was currently.

Aiden let out a forced chuckle. "That doesn't stop my dad from throwing a party and moving on with life."

Laughs went around the room and without thinking, I reached my hand out and squeezed Aiden's hand in the space between us. An unfamiliar rush of feeling shot through my hand before I quickly withdrew my fingers away from his. I could feel his burning gaze on the side of my face and ignored it, instead looking towards a set of blue eyes which I knew were already staring at me.

Sebastian smirked at me from the sofa across and wiggled his brows suggestively. I glared back at him. He's been making very teasing remarks and mocking me every chance he got. I understood why; he'd never had the chance to witness me have a crush while I've seen countless girls falling for him and him having his own little various crushes.

I felt a nudge to my side and looked over at Aiden expectantly. "I need to go to pick up my tux today."

"Cool, you want to go now?" I asked.

Aiden nodded and his eyes flickered behind me. "Does Sebastian need to come?"

Aiden knew why Sebastian was here: to protect him. And he wasn't too happy about having to be babysat by two people now. I shook my head in reply. Sebastian didn't have to watch over Aiden at all times. I was his bodyguard, after all. Sebastian was mainly here just in case of any attacks where he could be there instantly rather than having to come from where the rest of the group was.

I stood up along with Aiden. "Guys, we need to go pick up my tux."

All the boys looked at us and a question was written across Sebastian's face. I sent him a look indicating he didn't have to come along. He subtly nodded and leaned back in his seat.

Tristan raised his brow quizzically. "Why does her majesty need to go with you?"

My lips tugged into a smile at his nickname before I peered up at Aiden in search of an answer. Aiden grabbed his phone from the table and made his way to the door.

"We're picking up her dress as well," he said nonchalantly.

My eyes widened at his words and Sebastian burst out laughing. "Cupcake wouldn't be caught dead in a dress!" He exclaimed as his shoulders shook.

The other boys chuckled, and Caiden wiggled his brows at me. "Miss exotic in a dress," he let out a low whistle. "Want to be my date?" He asked flirtatiously.

A laugh rolled out of my mouth. "I don't do dates."

Caiden pouted at me and I waved my hand at the guys. Aiden stood with the door open and ushered me out. I made my way to the lift and turned to face him as we waited.
