"Lavender? Plum? Violet? They're all purple!" Michael was shaking his head as you continued to press the various colors to the walls. "I can guarantee you that when the baby gets here, she's not going to get mad because the colors of her walls aren't plum."
Finally letting the swatches fall to your hip you turned around, facing Michael, taking in his adorably confused look, a small smile forming on your face. "It's like how you are with your music Michael. There's various chords that to me sound the same but you know the exact difference between each and every one of them, I don't. There's differences between these colors that I can see that you cannot. And I know she won't get mad at what color is on the walls, but I just want everything to be perfect for her. She's our first baby, I want to do this right."
Michael could only smile at you before taking a small step to reach you, bringing you into his warm embrace, his left arm going around your back and his right arm around your baby bump. "You can do no wrong when it comes to this, (YN), it's going to be perfect for her no matter what color we do, no matter what theme we go with."
"It's not going to be long before we have her in this room, Michael. I guess I'm just getting more nervous the closer we get to her arrival. I've seen others go through this, but now that it's our turn, I have no idea what I'm doing or what we're going to do once she's here. Our friends have said they'll help but I still feel so lost."
Michael listened carefully to your words, trying to form the response that would calm you down the easiest. "It's not going to be easy, but we'll figure it out. We always do."
You'd always felt safe when you were in Michael's arms, whenever he held you, you felt like you were home with no worries. And now that you were having his baby, the comforting presence continued to blossom into something you never knew could exist before. It was almost as if Michael could read your mind as he held you.
"No matter what happens, (YN), I will always keep you and the baby safe. You'll always be safe with me."
"I know," you sighed, "it's just like I said, I'm getting more and more nervous about being a mom. Our lives are about to change in the biggest way possible. We're about to bring a new life into this world."
Michael leaned down and placed a kiss to the top of your head before pulling back to smile down at you. "And she's going to love her purple room, no matter what shade." He finished his sentence with a laugh to which you quickly joined in and he sighed in content. "There you go. I love it when you laugh, makes me happy. You just need to relax before this baby gets here, just pick a shade that you love and I will get the boys over here and they're going to help paint and make this the best nursery a baby could have."
Another laugh overcame you as you began to think about the four boys all in this room, painting your baby girl's nursery. "Are you sure that the paint will actually make it to the walls instead of all of the four of you? You remember when you guys helped paint the nursery for Ashton's son. I've never heard of someone having to go back to the store six times just to get more paint because instead of painting walls you decided to paint each other."
Michael chuckled as he grabbed the swatches from you and lifted the lavender one up. "That was not my idea just so you know, but this is." He handed you the lavender swatch. "I like that one the most. It'll go well with her name also, just a suggestion." His words hinted at your baby girl's name which was still undecided for the most part. "What do you think?"
Taking the swatch in your hand, striding over to the closest wall and placing the swatch to it, a warm feeling soaked into your bones and into your cheeks. "I love it! I told you that they were more than just shades of purple, Mikey."
"Yeah," He sighed and glanced around the room. "I'll go to the store and grab the paint and I'll be back with the boys in a little bit. Will you be okay til I get back?"
You sat in the rocking chair that sat in the corner of the room, a gift from Michael's mom, before smiling at your husband. "Yeah, we'll be okay." Your eyes began to close as Michael started to leave the room, he was almost out of earshot when you spoke next but he managed to still catch your words. "We'll be okay won't we my little Lavender, we'll be okay."
Michael couldn't get rid of the smile the entiretime he was at the store getting the paint. When he was putting the cans of paintin the car, he couldn't help but let his thoughts run crazy in his head.Lavender wasn't just a shade of purple anymore.
