I wake up. I look around the cabin, nobody was here. I guess they all went to breakfast without me. Not that I care. I actually prefer being alone right now. I go to the bathroom and get ready for the day. I plan on going to see my grandparents today. I put on a big sweater that was white with gray stars, some black leggings, and gray vans. I braid my hair and put on a gray beanie. I didn't even care if it actually matched. I finally put on all the jewelry that my dad got me and then I put on a pair of black sunglasses.
I skip breakfast when I see Cam walking around. I run up to him. "Hey, Cam."
"Hey, Sunny. What's up? Why aren't you eating breakfast?"
"I wanted to know if you wanted to go with me to see my grandparents."
"I'd love to, but I've gotta go help find some demigods. They're trapped by monsters and the satyrs need back-up." He says. "I'm sorry, Sunny."
"Nah, it's okay. I was just wondering because you know they almost always ask where you are." I laugh. He nods and smiles. "Now, go save the day, Wonder-Goat."
"Wonder-Goat?"
"Perfect superhero name for you, am I right?" I giggle before hugging him. "Now, stay safe. I'd kind of like to get my best friend back in one piece." I kiss his cheek and he runs off.
I start to walk to breakfast since it's not over yet. I look over to the Hades table. I only see Hazel and Leo sitting there. No Nico. I stare at Leo for a minute longer. He looks terrible. Did I really hurt him that much? I see him glance over at me so I turn my head and then run off.
I wanted to cry but I blink back my tears. I have to stay strong. I didn't know where I was running, but I found myself at the Hades cabin. I pop my head in and see Nico laying on his bed. "Hm, breakfast is ending, shouldn't you be going to training?"
"I got absolutely no sleep last night."
"And why is that?"
"Leo stayed all night, crying to Hazel. Crying. All night. Talking. All night. And it seems like when he finally shut up, it was time for breakfast!"
"I'm sorry." I say. "I saw him this morning and he looked terrible. I feel terrible. How could I do that to him? I just embarrassed him in front of the whole camp."
"He deserved it." He says, finally opening his eyes. He looks over at me. "But how do you feel?"
"Other than feeling like the worst human being ever?" I say, leaning against the wall and closing my eyes. "I try not to think about it. I tried to fill my head with happiness yesterday. But if you want the truth... empty. I feel empty. I feel like nothing matters. Like nobody cares. Even though I know perfectly well, that people do... I just," I sigh, opening my eyes again. "I feel alone."
"Well, I'm sorry to hear that." Nico says, sitting up. We hear something outside his cabin. Then, Hazel and Leo walk in. Awkward. Hazel stares at me for a second before turning to Nico. Leo was hiding his face. "Hello, Hazel. Hello, Leo. Did you eat well?"
"Hello, Nico. We ate very well."
"I didn't sleep well." Nico glares at Leo before getting up.
"Hey, don't get angry at him! He wouldn't be like this if it wasn't for her!" Hazel finally turns to me. "Her stupid song! What was that about anyways?! What did he do to deserve that?!" She shouts at me. "I admired you because you were so sweet! And I bet the last time was targetted at him too! You lied, didn't you?!"
I had planned on being the bigger person and just walking away, quietly. Yeah, that went out the window when she started shouting. "I thought you were sweet too, Hazel! When are you going to realize that other people have problems, not just you and Leo! You have no idea what I've been through!" I shout at her. "You need to realize that there are others in this world that get hurt! That actually get hurt by you! By him! And I'll admit, by me! So, stop acting like Little Miss Perfect, all the time!"
