I'm doing another chapter! Woo! 2 chapters in 24 hours! I'm on a roll! They see me rollin'! Okay...

The Perfect Place

"Do you wanna head back now?" Luke's soft voice entered my thoughts. We'd been sitting on the bench in the street for 10 minutes now. Neither of us had spoken, but the silence was comforting. Luke's arm stretched across the back of the bench as I slotted myself under his arm. It was 3pm, and we needed to be back at the hotel by 4. We had plenty of time. I shuffled and stood up. "Can we go for a walk in the park somewhere? We have plenty of time before we have to head back."

Luke nodded and and stood, entwining his fingers in mine. "Whatever you want."

We crossed the street and through the park gates. It was beautiful in the late afternoon, how the sun cascaded down on the trees. The grassy hills covered with daises and the sandy path that twisted and turned through the park was like somewhere from a movie. We finally reached the perfect place, the most beautiful willow tree with long draping branches, branches that would be easy to climb on. There were 4 old rubber tire swings hanging from the lowest branches, and a little patch of grass that lead down to a bank and a clear blue brook. This, was exactly what we were looking for.

"Luke, this is beautiful!" I marvelled our surroundings. Luke nodded in response. "I've been here before, the last time us boys came to Paris. It really is amazing, you could spend a whole day here." I could feel Luke's eyes on me as I oohed and aahed over the park. "How would you like to come here tomorrow?"

"Oh Luke, yes!" I jumped up and down squeezing his hands tight. Luke looked taken aback, but he still laughed. "Well, we've got some stuff to do in the morning, but maybe we could all come here for a picnic and spend the afternoon down here."

I nodded and finally stood still, looking up at Luke's eyes. I stood on my tiptoes and wound my arms around him. "Thank you. You've made me feel so much better." And that, was the truth.

The walk back to the hotel was long and silent, but at least it wasn't awkward anymore. I still worried about what Luke thought of me. He probably thought I was a lunatic for running off earlier. Sometimes I almost wanted to break down and confess everything, but I always decided against it. What would he think of me if he found out? Lets just say, he wouldn't want to get any closer to me.

These thoughts still played on my mind, but I brightened up when I saw Cassandra at the reception desk. "Aah, Sophie and Luke! How was your first day in Paris?"

"Fine thanks, Cassie." I glanced at the stairs. "Where are the rest of the boys?"

"Oh they're in the pool around the back. I've made sure no one else is allowed in there, so its private for you guys. Maybe you'd like to join them?"

I nodded and took the key from her hand. "Thanks Cassie."

"Swimming?" Luke asked me curiously as we climbed the mountain of stairs. "Great! I've been dying to see you in a bikini."

I blushed and slapped his chest. "Stop it! And anyway you won't be seeing me in a bikini because I'll be wearing a swimming costume."

"Awwh!" Luke turned the key and pushed into our room. He flopped down on the bed on his belly and faced me, pouting. I shook my head and giggled. "No chance, Hemmings, its swimming costume or nothing."

Luke's eyes lit up immediately. "Nothing?!"

I blushed furiously and Luke laughed. "I'm only teasing. Go and get changed, I'll wait for you."
