Shut Up And Start The Car
I groaned and buried my head under the covers when I realized that it was 8.15 in the morning. I had literally had no sleep what so ever. I was awake most of the night. Thinking. Thinking about what had happened that last night. With Calum.
I scrambled out of bed and over to the balcony, opening the doors. The heat rushed to me straight away. The sky was a pure blue with not a cloud in sight. It was perfect weather.
I left the balcony doors open, letting the net curtains to flutter in the breeze. I walked back over to the bed and bundled myself up inside the covers, wondering whether to go downstairs or not. I couldn't face Calum again, not after last night. And what about Luke? How could I be so close to him, knowing that Calum still liked me.
I eventually mustered the courage and forced myself downstairs. Fortunately, it was only Ashton and Michael in the kitchen, the two boys that I didn't mind seeing this morning. I breathed a huge sigh of relief and hopped up onto one of the stools next to Michael.
"Goood morning sleepyhead!" Michael teased, ruffling my messy hair. He and Ash were dressed in tank tops and black jeans. I widened my eyes. "How can you guys wear jeans in a hot country?"
"We live in Australia. We're kinda used to it." Ash slid a plate with a bacon sandwich across the island for me, and sat down opposite us. I nodded in agreement and took a bite, looking around. "Where's Calum?" I managed to ask.
Ashton shrugged. "He went for a walk somewhere. Got up really early this morning." I started to panic inside, knowing why he went off alone. "And Luke?"
"Still in bed." Michael pinched half of my sandwich and jumped away before I could react.
On cue, Luke drooped into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes and looking slightly disheveled. "Hey man." Ashton greeted, slapping his back. "You sleep well?"
Luke mumbled something, leaning against the counter. He looked up, when his eyes locked on mine. Usually I'd just smile. But not this time. His eyes didn't shine like they always did. They were dark, which meant that he was angry. Like he was...oh no...
"I'm gonna go and get ready." I quickly stood up, sliding the plate across to Michael. I pattered out of the kitchen, my head down. Even without looking behind, I knew that he was staring at me.
After having a speedy and cold shower, I dressed in my pink tube bikini and wrapped my towel around my body, making sure that it completely covered my back. After braiding my hair down the side, I stuffed my sunglasses, sun tan oil and a huge bottle of water into my beach bag, before slipping my flip flops on my feet and hurrying downstairs.
Michael was still in the kitchen, tapping on his phone screen as he leaned against the counter. He looked up when I walked in and grinned. "You naked under that?"
I rolled my eyes at him and rummaged in the cupboard for food. "Shut up. Still no sign of Cal?"
"Nope." Michael placed his phone on the island and looked at me with raised eyebrows. "Why are you so bothered? Do you like him?"
I reeled backwards from the cupboard as Michael started to make little bird noises. I wanted to punch him, but I just laughed him off. "Sure Clifford, of course I do." I stuffed the snacks that I'd found into my beach bag. "I'm going to work on my tan. Don't disturb me."
Michael chuckled as I walked by him. "Sure thing Mrs Hood."
I blushed furiously at the name. I didn't like Calum. I honestly didn't. But the kiss last night changed the way I thought about him...
