Here you go guys! Here is Sophie's truth!
I Love You
We were 14, young and foolish. I went to the movies with Anna, and a few of the other girls. We gave our tickets to this guy. He caught my eye instantly. He was dark, mysterious, and handsome. He had tousled black hair, the sort that falls across his eyes. His eyes. They were dark too, like pools of midnight sky. His skin was pale and pasty, but flawless, no spots, no freckles. I thought he was perfect. Everything about him was dark, but in a good way. When he took my ticket, he winked at me and whispered, "Enjoy the film Strawberry Shortcake." I blushed at the nickname. I didn't know where he got it from, but I liked it.
As we went in, the girls insisted that he was flirting. "No! Of course not! He was just being friendly." But I couldn't help but wonder, was he flirting?
I daydreamed about him throughout the movie, replaying different scenarios in my head as to what could have happened. I actually thought I was in love.
When we came out of the cinemas, the guy wasn't there. I was disappointed, so the guys took me to McDonald's to cheer me up. And there he was. Sitting alone, sipping a milkshake. He spotted me, and just smiled. The girls giggled and said that they better get going, then rushed out, leaving me standing there. The guy patted the seat next to him, but I froze. Stranger danger! What do I do?
I slowly dragged myself over there and slid into the booth opposite him. He greeted me then. He told me his name was Alfie. Alfie McFadden. I thought it had a nice ring to it. He also told me that he was 19. I thought he was a bit too old for me, but I didn't let it bother me at the time. We talked about lots of stuff, family, friends, school, I told him about how my dad had left, and he was very understanding about it. I finally said I'd better be going. Alfie said he'd drive me home. I told him to stop at the end of my street; I didn't want my mom to see. He gave me his number, and told me we'd meet up again. I was thrilled that a guy had actually paid attention to me, but David wasn't...
Luke scrunched his nose up. "Who's David?"
I nodded "Let me finish." Luke held his hands up in surrender and leaned back.
David was my best friend. We met on the first day of Year 7, when we were put together as partners in Drama. He was hilarious, great to be around. He was my best friend after that, and we did everything together. He was the hottie, the guy every girl fancied, with his toned abs, tanned skin, fluffy blonde hair and beady blue eyes. But to me, he was just my friend, nothing more. I told him all about Alfie, but he didn't seem to care, and I never knew why..." I trailed off. Luke leaned forward and held my hands, but I pulled them away and carried on. " Me and Alfie texted every day. He walked me home from school, took me out to places. But the more time I spent with Alfie, the less time I spent with David. He kept warning me that Alfie was bad news, but I never listened.
It wasn't until 5 months into our relationship. Alfie and I were more serious, we went out, kissed, went home, and did it all again the next day. It was perfect to me, until it got worse...
Alfie started drinking. Sometimes when we went out, he'd have a can of beer, but it was much worse than that. He'd storm into my house, completely wasted. Whenever he came round, I told my mom that he was a supervisor at school, helping me with my GCSE's, when really we were snogging on the stairs. Anyway, I began to worry about Alfie, because when he was drunk, he was aggressive. So I called David and asked him to meet me at the park...
I told him all about Alfie's problems, and he finally listened. But when I finished, he told me something I'd never forget. He told me he loved me, that he'd loved me from the moment we'd met. Then he kissed me. I was speechless, shocked. He kissed much better than Alfie, but I was sure I loved Alfie, not David. I broke away when my phone started ringing. It was Alfie. He told me he was on his way to my house, then dropped the call. I had to rush home, leaving David alone. When I got home, luckily, my mom and sisters were out.
