Chapter18- Unknown Number

Unknown Number

"OMG! Guys.." I gasped, glancing up at the huge archway that read 'Gardaland' and the famous Blue Tornado rollercoaster looming in the distance. Every time I came to Italy, I always bugged my mom and dad to bring me here, but they never did. And now, I was here. I whirled around to see the three boys beaming at me, their cheeks rosy. "You've already treated me enough! You really didn't have to do this."

"Like I said, we wanted to." Ash patted my shoulder. "We'll go get the wristbands and stuff. Maybe you ought to call your mom. She probably wants to wish you happy birthday too." I nodded as Ash and Michael walked through into the park. Calum dug his hands in his pockets, leaning against the wall. "I'll wait here with you."

I smiled and fished my phone out from my bag, unlocking it and checking my messages. I still had the same SIM card, so all of my contacts were still on there too. I already had tons of Facebook comments, tweets on Twitter, and just 3 messages. 'Wow' I thought to myself. 'Im popular.'

The first one was from Anna. It read, "Happy Birthday, Strawberry! Will give u ur present once ur back home, not sure when tht will b! How r the boys? Hope ur not having 2 much fun without me! Anyway, I know ur probs busy, so call me lata. Have a gr8 time being 16, its hard! Missin you bk in England! PS- Ur the talk of the town bk here :) xxx"

I smiled as I read it. Typical Anna.

The second message was from my mom. It read, "Happy Birthday, Honey! Call me as soon as you've read this! xxx" I nodded, as if she was there to see it. Then a new message popped up. It was an unknown number.

I frowned in confusion as I read it. "Happy Birthday Sophie. I miss you :("  I racked my brain, trying to think of who it could be, when Calum laughed. "What are you thinking about?" He asked me.

I showed him the message, and soon he was frowning too. Who is it from?" I asked, as if he would click his fingers and rattle it out. But he just shrugged, sucking at his lip. "I don't know Soph, I'm not pyschic!"

I laughed as my phone began to ring. I picked it up straight away. "Hello?"

Then I laughed again, when I heard my mom's voice trailing down the phone, singing Happy Birthday. "Thanks Mom." I gushed when she had finished.

"My little girl is 16!" My mom squealed down the phone at me, I'm surprised Calum couldn't hear it from where he was standing. "How has your day been honey?"

"Great so far, the guys have gotten me so many great presents, Ash got me an IPhone 6! Oh, and we're at that Gardaland theme park now, you know, the one in..."

"You got an IPhone 6?" My mom asked, clearly confused. "I thought they weren't out yet."

I sighed. "They're not, but..."

"Soph!" I turned to see Calum at the gates, beckoning for me to follow him. "Mom, I have to go. I'll call you tonight, I promise!"

"But, about that IPhone..."

"Bye Mom!" I shouted down the line before cutting her off. I couldn't be doing with that right now. It was my birthday, possibly the best birthday yet, and I didn't want I skipped over to Calum, who handed me my wristband. "You ready?"

I grinned widely. "Ready as I'll ever be."

Gardaland was amazing. And I mean amazing. Possibly better than Disneyland. We trapsed around the park all morning, laughing and joking along the way. We went on the huge Ferris wheel, me and Michael in one carriage and Ashton and Calum in the other. The whole time, Michael rocked our cart back and forth, and I screamed the whole time, especially when we tipped forward to face the ground below. We earned disapproving looks from everyone else, but I didn't care. I was having fun.
