"Throw me to the wolves and I'll return leading the pack" - Unknown

The two turned around to find a group of bulky men walking towards them, the chains they were holding dragged across the rough ground, the sound made Aspen wince.

One of the men looked at the two with a sly grin, displaying his yellow teeth. "What are you two pretty ladies doing out here at this time of night, waiting for me?"

"You wish buddy" Reynah dismissed the group, as Aspen and her walked away from them, only to be stopped by another group of similar looking men who appeared in front of them. Taking this a threat, Reynah now had her guard up.

"Who the hell are you creeps? Get out of my way! You have no idea who you're messing with." Aspen retorted harshly as she attempted to move past the men.

The insult clearly didn't fly well with them because the next thing she knew one of them was gripping her wrist with such force bruising was inevitable.

"Hey! Get your hands off me!" Aspen yelled, Reynah could tell her tough girl act was a facade, the fear in her eyes was so visible to her and it didn't sit well with her.

At the sound of chains she snapped her head towards the man that held Aspen, he was attempting chain her wrists together, it was only then did she notice the crazed expression on his face and the red glint in his eyes. Rogues

"It's taken quite a while to find you, little girl" The rouge whispered into Aspen's ear, clearly making her uncomfortable. Before he could get the chains on Aspen, Reynah jumped between them and kicked the man straight in the chest, knocking him backwards.

"You're going to regret that bitch" Another man spoke this time and she felt an an arm wrap around her neck, she gasped for air and the man took the opportunity to tighten his grip on her neck, blocking her oxygen supply even further.

Reynah extracted her claws quickly and dug them into him abdomen deep enough for him to loosen his grip on her neck, just enough for her to break free.

The rouge doubled over in pain and Reynah kicked him once again. Rogues started piling up, surrounding them. Aspen hid behind the protection of Reynah, visibly shaking.

Without turning around, Reynah softly grabbed Aspen's hand to which the young girl clutched onto tightly, "Get out of here as fast as you can, they want you, not me." Reynah whispered.

"I-I don't know how to shift, I'm only 15" Aspen spoke softly with a slight stutter that only Reynah picked up.

"Don't worry about that, just run, run fast and make sure they don't catch you." Reynah spoke, turning her head just enough so she could face Aspen. Her words were silent but stern.

Aspen was hesitant, her face scrunched up in thought but their conversation was put to a halt by the low growls from across where they stood.

"Trust me, I'll be fine. Run and go somewhere safe, I'll hold them back as long as I can." Reynah reassured the small girl with such sincerity that it shocked Aspen, the guilt she felt was evident in her teary eyes.

"Thank you" Aspens softly whispered as she sprinted across the wet soil, narrowly missing the rogue's outstretched hand.

"Get her!, and don't let her get away this time." A rogue commanded, scars littered his face and there wasn't an inch of skin that was left untouched by black ink.

Reynah quickly blocked their way and made a threatening growl halting them in their tracks. A man with a tattooed skull on his bicep raised his arm, aiming for her neck. Narrowly missing it, Reynah steadied her footing and punched his jaw.
