"We know what we are, but know not what we may be." William Shakespeare

Reynah's Pov

The atmosphere around us grew tense, and I was trying my best to look threatening but I guess it didn't work because a few seconds later Alessio had this annoying smirk on his face.

The nerve of this jerk. He finds this funny.

"You have that stupid look on your face again, what exactly is so funny? I know you've been hiding things from me Alessio, this is serious!"

He walked closer to me, but I forced myself to not back away. He leaned down, and it was becoming increasingly difficult to stay calm when his face was a mere inches away from mine.

"I know mi amor"

"Well it doesn't seem like it. I know it's your duty as Alpha to protect your pack but I also have a role to play in mine. Missing supernaturals and assassination attempts don't just affect Silver Claw but also Evergreen and every other pack in this country"

"This is your pack, your concerns should be solely focused on Silver Claw and me - your mate"

"No it's not. That fact doesn't change no matter how many times you deny it. We're not mated- I'm not marked and above everything else I'm leaving-"

"Deal"

A wave of guilt overwhelmed me for bringing up that fact again but I repressed it. Finally getting some answers is what I want, but is it worth it? What if being the Luna of this pack does something to me? What if I grow attached to his pack? What if I grow feelings towards Alessio?

Stop.

I'm already starting to regret making this deal in the first place. Once I become Luna I won't be able to leave - I'd have a responsibility to this pack. What the hell did I just do?!

"Wait- I don't think I thought this throu-"

"Tonight the Luna Ceremony will take place. I'm going to claim you in front of this pack and I'm never letting you go"

"Woah what do you mean by claim?"

"Guess you'll just have to find out"

And his smirk was back. I was kind of glad - I didn't like seeing him so serious.

"That's not an answer Alessio, seriously what do you mean by claim. You don't mean it as in marki-

"Aspen and Jade will be coming soon to help you pick out your dress for the ceremony."

"Would you stop interrupting me!

"I'll be heading to the training grounds now mi amor, be sure to behave." He chuckled and he was out of the room in a flash.

I hate it when he does that!

A sense of deja vu hit me, I swear he does that all the time. Next time I'm going to get my revenge.

I headed towards the living room, planning my revenge plot when I spot Aspen and Jade on the couch, reading some magazines.

Damn they're fast.

"Reynah! You're here! I was so excited when Alessio said your Luna Ceremony was taking place tonight, we've already picked out a dress for you"

"What?, I just agreed to this 5 minutes ago."

"Yeah well, we've been ready since the day I found out you were Alessio's mate." Aspen commented, grabbing me by the arm and hauling me upstairs.

A few hours had passed, and from what Aspen has told me the ceremony was going to occur in a hour or two. Being in Alessio's room, standing in front of the mirror in the dress Aspen and Jade has picked out for me was when all my thoughts went haywire.

Goddess I really didn't think this through.

My fingers played with the fabric of the white embroidered dress.

"You both did a beautiful job but don't you think the dress is a little much?, I mean it's not like i'm getting married"

"Don't be ridiculous, you're about to become the official Luna of the Silver Claw Pack - one of the largest packs in the territory. They'll be hundreds of people watching, there is no such thing as overdressed. You look absolutely stunning and that's all that matters." Jade ranted, packing up the make up she had used on my face.

"Hundreds huh?"

I suddenly recalled Alessio telling me how many people were in this pack, I seriously hope I don't make a fool out of myself. I prayed to the Moon Goddess that everything would go smoothly.

The two completely completely ignored what I just said. They were too busy with the small details concerning the small flowers in my hair.

"Alessio is going to want to rip that dress of you as soon as he sees you, don't you worry" Jade commented, laughing as she picked out a bracelet for me to wear.

I blushed at her comment about Alessio, I secretly hoped he did like the dress I wore as much as I hate to admit it. Never have I ever worn such luxurious gowns, I felt uncomfortable in such a beautiful dress. I wonder how much this dress costs. Holy shit, why am I only thinking of this now?

"Hey Aspen, how much does all of this cost? I need to make sure I repay Alessio for all of this."

Aspen started to laugh. "Don't be ridiculous Reynah. Why would you need to pay for this? Your a Luna - our Luna. Besides Alessio doesn't care in the slightest how much money we spend if it means he gets to see you like this"

"Also, we should probably tell you this beforehand. At the Luna Ceremony you'll meet the eldest pack member, her name is Katiana. She will perform the Lunar rituals on you, all you need to do is follow her lead. Don't worry, she's an absolute sweetheart" Jade thankfully mentioned.

"What about Alessio? He's going to be next to me right?" I was already incredibly nervous and I really needed the support of Alessio if I was going to go through with this.

"Well obviously, he's your mate. You worry too much." Jade laughed

"Come on, the ceremony is about to start." Aspen said as Jade and her practically dragged me out of the room, they seemed way more excited about this entire thing than I was.
