Reynah P.O.V
"Alessio!" I called out Alessio's name in surprise before running over to him and tugging on his arm towards his desk where the map laid flat.
Alessio let me drag him and his calculating eyes scanned the map.
"The arrow, it's made out of Lyregreen ash. I think whoever shot it might be hiding in one of these areas!" My words were rushed since I was still excited over my discovery, call me childish but I couldn't help but feel like a detective.
"I was thinking we could go check them out, but the only thing is that two of the places are a day's journey so someone else is going to have to take care of the pack but-"
"You will take care of the pack." I could see the reflection of my face in Alessio's eyes and watched as my face deflated from his statement.
"But I want to go-" Once again he cut off my argument.
"Reynah, I'm not letting you go on a hunting spree for the very people who wanted to murder you. I will go with my Beta and a few other guards but you are staying here and leading the pack."
I growled in frustration but Alessio didn't seem the least bit threatened.
"The only reason you have a lead now is because of me, I deserve to go too!" I defended
"I know amor, but you need to understand that I can't lose you."
"Who said you would lose me? I'm not going anywhere."
"I'm not changing my mind." He stated, his alpha voice slightly coming through.
"Neither am I" I stubbornly stated, crossing my arms in front of my chest.
"Stop acting childish, I need you to be a Luna right now. This evening I am traveling to the NightBlade Territory and I don't want to argue you with you again."
"That's vampire territory. Why on earth would you be going there?"
"I have a meeting with Dimitri, unfortunately, you'll meet him soon enough."
Clearly, they don't like each other noted.
"Can we please talk about this when you get back then?" I asked, my hand gesturing towards the map that still covered the table.
After a little hesitation, Alessio finally gave in. He gently pulled me towards his chest and inhaled my scent to which I wrapped my arms around his torso. I suddenly felt guilty for making him so tense, as his mate I was supposed to do the opposite.
"Ok"

"My Beta and third in command will still be here but if anything happens make sure you call me." Alessio instructed me and we walked towards the exit of our home.
"I'll be fine, you're the one entering a territory of blood-sucking demons." I reminded him, what surprised me though was that I wasn't worried about him at all. Ok, that was a lie, but I knew Alessio could easily take care of himself.
