Dimitri's P.O.V
My instinct was to kill the rogue when I heard the cries erupt from her; but before I could even get halfway to her, a rusty-coloured she-wolf, lunged at the rogue.
She clawed at its face, my beloved falling to the ground as soon as the rogue released his grip on her. I see her clutching her arm, blood staining her delicate arms. The urge to kill overpowered all my senses. My fangs extended.
I'm going to kill the bastard.
Third Person
In the blink of an eye, Dimitri towered over the rogue who had nearly killed his beloved, his eyes the colour of obsidian. The rogue whimpered, still injured from Reynah's previous attack, but before the rogue could react, Dimitri wrapped his arms around his neck and snapped it, the wolf's body going limp in his arms. Without hesitation, he did the same with two other rogues with ease.
Continuing his killing spree, he noticed Alessio had finally arrived ripping the heads of three rogues before dashing towards Reynah's wolf form who was still trying to defend the prisoners. Dimitri took notice of two rogues fleeing the scene, he was about to chase after them until he heard the piercing cry from his beloved.
A feeling of dread consumed Dimitri, a feeling he hadn't possessed in years and he detested it. He feared for his beloved, his future was only a few feet away from him and he stood frozen. He was scared - scared shitless that his beloved would be taken away from him before he could even encase her in his arms.
Dimitri ran towards his beloved, noting she was surrounded by others, both vampires and werewolves who looked like they were about to pass out at any moment. All of them - like his beloved were sickly pale, her disheveled blonde hair standing out amidst the crowd.
Dimitri outstretched his hand towards the girl, her head shot up to the contact, staring into Dimitri's eyes causing his breath to hitch. Sapphires, her eyes glistened with the tears she was holding back. But, he felt distressed by the fear in her eyes - fear of him.
"Don't worry, I would never hurt you" Dimitri spoke so softly, only her ears would hear his promise, a promise she had yet to realise the meaning and truth of his words.
"P-please...it hurts" Those few words were enough for Dimitri to know that the rest of his life would be dedicated to her and only her. Before she could protest, Dimitri picked her up from the ground. She stiffened in his hold, Dimitri softening his grip on her as a response.
"Are- Are you my -my um beloved?" The female vampire gently asked, almost as if she was unsure herself.
The corners of his mouth slightly lifted to form a smile, a genuine smile for once.
"Hard to believe isn't it?" His smile widening when her blue eyes widened even further.
Third P.O.V
Dimitri continued to carry his beloved in his arms, walking towards Alessio who had already shifted his human form, along with his mate who was conversing with the other prisoners.
"We've decided to take the werewolves back to my pack, you can decide what to do with your kind" Alessio informed.
"If I may- I require the assistance of your gamma to retrieve a few of my men for me. As you can see my hands are full" Dimitri replied, referring to the small girl in his arms. Alessio's eyes glazed over no doubt informing Silas of the request.
When the girl noticed Dimitri was talking about her she embarrassedly buried her face into Dimitri's chest, hiding from Alessio's curious gaze. In all the years Alessio had known Dimitri he had never been interested in a girl, this one must be special.
Dimitri saw his beloved's discomfort due to the unintentional staring and glared at Alessio. The Alpha got the message and decided to depart, his eyes glinting with pride when he saw that his mate was talking to the group of werewolves, the little ones clinging onto her legs.
"I will take my leave, but I trust that we will talk soon about the underground prison cell in your territory, Dimitri. You have a lot of explaining to do." Alessio said, his annoyance prevalent.
Dimitri nodded, unbothered about by his tone. By that time Silas had returned with five of his soldiers all waiting for his command.
"Round up all the vampires and take them back home, make sure they don't escape. Notify me when they have all been treated and don't leave them out of your sight until I get some answers." Dimitri said, deterring from his usual threat, not wanting to frighten the girl in his arms. The one who finally gave him a reason to live, truly live.
Alessio's P.O.V
"Who was that?" My mate questioned, as my arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her close to my chest, her scent calming down my restless wolf.
"Dimitri, one of the Seven Vampire Pillars" I answered and watched as an expression of shock appeared on my mate's face
"He's a pillar!? I heard they all looked as if they were born in the Stone Age"
I erupted in laughter, as I tried to imagine Dimitri as an old grumpy grandpa. Actually it wasn't that hard to imagine.
"No mi amore, there are some who act like they are from the stone age though" I muttered.
Reynah was about to ask another question before Silas came towards me.
I pulled away from Reynah and landed a quick punch on my Gamma who fell to the ground from the impact. Reynah shrieked from my unexpected attack and held onto my bicep thinking I would try to land another hit on him.
"Dude, that was so not cool." Silas groaned, rubbing his jawline as he got up
"You saw that one coming" Alessio smirked, wrapping his arm around the side of Reynah's waist again.
"You promised!" Silas childishly complained to Reynah, referring to their earlier agreement in the forest.
"Alessio!" Reynah yelled
"Oh come on I didn't even hit him that hard!" He chuckled.
"Good to know you find joy in my pain. Anyway, I finished questioning the prisoners. Four of them are from Nicholas's Pack and the rest are from Alaric's"
"I'll inform them about the situation, I trust you can take them back to their packs?" Alessio ordered.
"Of course, Alpha" Silas said before retreating back to the werewolf prisoners who were now free.
"And you are in so much trouble, just wait until we get back home" I growled, as I turned my attention back to my mate, pulling her close to my side.
"What? I found a hidden underground prison and suddenly I'm the bad guy. If anything you should be praising me"
"Trust me, I already do" I whispered, placing a light kiss on her forehead
My wolf growled in adoration at the sight of the faint pink that painted her cheeks. "Come on, the pack has gone on long enough without their Alpha and Luna."
