Alessio's eyes darkened and a low growl escaped his mouth, he roughly gripped her waist and forced his mate onto his lap.
"I dare you to finish that sentence"

The sun glared through the window, forcing me awake. The memories of what happened prior still remained in my head causing a blush to bloom across my cheeks. I tried to move out of the bed when I found Alessio's hand was firmly wrapped around my waist.
Well, shit.
Careful not to wake him up, I gently lifted his hand and placed a pillow where I lay originally. I then headed towards the bathroom, brushing my teeth, and then walked out. I glanced towards Alessio, who still had a death grip on me - well the pillow, making me smile warmly.
I should make him a 'sorry breakfast', hopefully, he will forgive me then.
I continued my walk downstairs, towards the kitchen. There was no one in sight, so I decided to get started. I looked around the kitchen and spotted some bananas.
I hope he likes banana pancakes.
I quickly got to work, mixing all of the ingredients together and preparing the pan. After a while, there was a loud crash from upstairs and a very loud growl that echoed throughout the house. I winced at the thunderous sound and turned towards the stairs.
Soon enough footsteps were heard coming down from the stairs, I saw my mate in all his glory, with his eyes a darker shade, frantically scanning the room. Eventually, his eyes settled on me and his tense posture became more relaxed. No more than two steps further, and he scooped me in his arms.
I stood there, like an idiot, wondering what had happened.
"What's wrong?" I ask him as he breathes in my scent.
"I thought you left."
"Why would you think that?"
"I don't know, you seem like the running type." He smirks.
"What are you making?" He questioned as he lets go of me and takes a step back.
"Pancakes, do you like them?." I say while turning around and continuing the task at hand.
"Is this about yesterday? I already forgave you."
"Well fine these are 'you're an idiot and I'm sorry for calling you that' pancakes," I reply while pouring more batter on the pan.
"But you've never called me an idiot." He replied, his eyebrows furrowed.
"You're an idiot," I say, reaching up on my toes, pecking him on the cheek.
He lets out a snarl, before grabbing the base of my neck and stealing a kiss from my lips.
"That shut you up didn't it?" He smirked.
I roll my eyes at him and continued to mix the batter, not minding it when Alessio wrapped his arms around my waist, resting his chin on my shoulder. After finishing the pancakes, I dragged him to the dining table, placing pancakes in front of him.
"Bon appétit!"
We began to eat when suddenly we heard a loud voice.
"Hello, my darlings!" We turn around and spot Margareth walking into the kitchen. "I see you've already made breakfast." She frowns.
"I'm sorry Margareth but we had woken up a bit earlier than usual so we decided to just make something," I replied.
"Oh it's alright, just let me handle it next time, it is my job after all." She smiles warmly as I nodded my head and continue to eat the food.
"Oh and before I forget, I am holding a surprise birthday party for Jade next Saturday, will you both be able to make it?" Margareth asked kindly.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world!" I reply back while Margareth smiles at me and walks towards the kitchen. I glance at Alessio, paying close attention towards his reaction on the pancakes I've made.
Why does he have to look like that - it's not fair.
"They're great" Alessio chimes.
"Hmm?" I ask, getting distracted by his goddamn eyes again, letting my thoughts wander to last night.
Get a hold of yourself Ray.
"The pancakes - they're good"
"Uh right, thanks" I mutter quietly, looking away
"Is something wrong?"
"What? Nothing is wrong, why would you think there's something wrong?"
"Look me in the eyes Amore"
"No thanks, I'm good" I uttered before stuffing my face with pancakes.
Way to make a fool out of yourself Reynah - real attractive
"I'm gonna get myself a glass of water, what about you? Are you thirsty?" I ask as I lift myself off the chair, but before I could walk over to the kitchen, Alessio grabs me by the wrist and it took me a few seconds to register then I'm on his lap, straddling him. He wraps his arms around my waist and grabs my chin tilting it towards my face.
"What's wrong Amore?"
"Nothing just you."
"What about me?" He smirks.
"You're thirsty right? here let me go get you some-"
"Yeah, I am thirsty," Alessio says as his eyes roam my body.
I rolled my eyes, playfully hitting his chest and got off of his lap. I then walked towards the kitchen and filled two glasses of water and brought them back to the dining table. I placed one down in front of him and one in front of myself.
"Thanks Amore, but that's not what I meant." He smiled.
"So what are we doing today?" I ask him, ignoring his comment as I take a sip of my water.
His chuckling came to a stop as his eyes glazed over. After a few minutes he glanced towards me then quickly ate his pancakes and gulped down his water.
"Sorry Amore but I can't stay, I'm needed back at my office."
I nodded as I saw him walking away, after kissing my cheek quickly.
"Don't worry about him dear, he does that a lot." Said Margareth as she walked into the dining room to collect Alessio's plate and glass.
"Do you know where he's off to?" I ask as I get up as well with my now finished plate and glass, and headed towards the kitchen.
"Probably to his office, like what he had said before." she chuckled.
I laughed with her as I replied, "No I mean do you know what he is doing in there?"
"He probably received a lead on about the underground prison," Margareth said. "Why don't you go hang out with Jade and Aspen? I think they're in Aspen's room."
"Okay Margareth, will do." I sighed heavily and began my walk upstairs towards Aspen's room.
