A/N Long time no see! I'm so sorry for being late...again. I'm afraid I'm in exam season so it will be difficult for me to update every Saturday but I will try my best to update as frequent as I can. I wrote this chapter really quickly just to get into the coming chapter so I'm sorry if it's not as interesting. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy! <3

I was in the kitchen right now picking at the scrambled eggs on my plate. Since last night I couldn't stop thinking of my old pack, my friends and father especially.
I didn't know whether the attack on SilverClaw was just a coincidence or planned, but either way, I knew I had to contact my father to just have some peace of mind that they are all safe.
As my eyes wandered to the beautiful interior design of the kitchen, I couldn't help but feel guilty. I've been so overwhelmed with everything that came along with being Alessio's mate that I never took the time to see how my old pack was doing.
As I got up to put the plate away the sudden smell of pinewood invaded my nose and I knew Alessio would be entering the kitchen soon. I looked up and sure enough, Alessio waltzed into the kitchen. What had me giggling though was how adorable he looked with his messed up hair and annoyed face.
He walked up to stand in front of me and I had to lift my head slightly to look into his eyes. He leisurely wrapped his arms around my waist, his hold was gentle but warm. I wrapped my arms around his neck, my amused smile still present.
"Why are you laughing?" Alessio asked genuinely curious
"Because of you." I decided to tease him a little, and the unimpressed look on his face was evidence that I had succeeded.
I decided to give him a break and fixed up his hair, the hair easily glided through my fingers.
"You look cute with your bedhead and your grouchy face." I answered, fully aware of the fact that he hated it when I called him cute.
Alessio grunted in slight annoyance, putting his face in my hair.
"I'm grouchy because I woke up to an empty bed." Alessio explained and my cheeks slightly reddened at his words.
"Sorry, I was really hungry." It wasn't completely a lie. I'm always hungry.
Alessio's eyes went to what was left of my sad excuse of a breakfast and began taking some ingredients from the fridge.
"Just so you know, I'm gonna go out today to buy myself a phone."
"There's no need for that amor, I can ask someone else to get it for you. I don't want you going out after yesterday anyway but why the sudden interest in a phone?" Alessio asked turning the stove on.
"I want to call my dad, I haven't spoken to him in a while and I just wanted to know if everyone is doing okay in my old pack." I said truthfully
"You can use my phone now, I'll make sure you get your own phone by tomorrow." Pulling out his phone from his pocket and handing it to me.
"Thank you, I won't take long!" I exclaimed, taking the phone from him gratefully.
I went to the room Alessio and I shared and rang my father. My father and I were always close when I was a little girl but after my mother died, he changed but even then I knew he tried his best to raise me.
I was relieved when I heard my father's voice on the other end of the call but before I could get a word in, I had to pull the phone away from my ear. The loud scolding from my father nearly deafening me. I knew he would be upset with me staying in another pack and not even contacting him.
I reassured him that I was fine before asking the same for him. The weight was lifted off my shoulders when my father explained how he was doing fine and how the pack had quickly recovered.
I continued to exchange words with him until I noticed how much time had passed on the clock.
"I have to go now dad, tell Tobias that I'm doing well and I miss him too. Bye, I love you."
I ended the call and exited the room. Right across from it was my old room, the door still shut. I knew Alessio said I shouldn't go in there until the place was completely cleaned and safe but when did I listen to what my mate says?
Opening the door, my face scrunched up in confusion at my well-made bed and the spotless room. Since when was this place ready?
The answer suddenly dawned on me and I made my way down to where I knew Alessio would be. Entering the kitchen, I see Alessio placing some pancakes onto two separate plates and I couldn't help but smile at his thoughtfulness.
It was funny how others saw him as the big bad wolf, but to me, he was just an innocent puppy that I didn't deserve.
I sat across from him and Alessio told me about how he would be busy today with interrogating the rogue wolves, to catch him off guard I interrupted him casually.
"Do you reckon my room will be ready soon?" I asked, already knowing the truth but maintained a curious look in my eyes, looking Alessio straight in the eyes.
His eyes immediately shifted from mine and he choked on the bite on pancake he was chewing though he quickly recovered.
"I'm afraid you're stuck with me amor, your room isn't ready yet."
It could have been that I was his mate but I could easily see his internal struggle from lying to me. I so badly wanted to laugh at his attempts at lying but I held my laughter at bay.
"What a shame" I commented, continuing to eat the delicious breakfast. One of these days I was gonna need to cook something for Alessio.
Even if I was given the choice to return to my old room I wouldn't, I couldn't even imagine going to sleep peacefully without Alessio's strong embrace and comfort lulling me to sleep now that I've experienced it.
"I have to go meet Ryker now, so I'll see you tonight" Alessio said, quickly placing a kiss on my cheek surprising me since mine were filled with pancakes right now and left the room.

After checking up on the few pack members left in the infirmary I made my way to Alessio's office. Luckily, everyone who was injured was healing quickly; perks of being a werewolf.
Entering the office, I wasn't surprised when I didn't see Alessio, he was probably still busy interrogating the wolves. I was going to leave until I spotted Alessio's chair catch my eye, it was huge with its beautiful leather design and I decided I would quickly just sit on it.
Once I was seated I noticed that on his desk I was the arrow that had shot through my room as well as the letter attached to it along with a couple maps and other random files.
Carefully, I picked up the arrow and examined it. Anyone could easily tell it was carved from wood but what surprised me was the familiar scent of Lyregreen ash that came with it, I had only used it once with my dad when he was making a healing tonic for my mother but it was extremely hard to come by.
I suddenly got an idea and cleared the table so I could see the map fully, grabbing a pencil I circled all the woods I knew had Tokrik Trees, they were the only trees that made that ash.
Three. There were exactly three areas where whoever made this arrow could be.
"What are you doing?" I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Alessio's voice.
Shit.
