"Have a heart that never hardens, and a temper that never tires, and a touch that never hurts." Charles Dickens

Alessio's heavy footsteps pounded against the ground, breathing heavily his eyes shifted between brown and blood red; listening for any foreign sounds. He picked up his speed at the sound of cries for help and the tearing of flesh.

He was easily able to pick up the scent of filth, rogues. There was another faint smell in the air but he didn't care to question it now. Along with rogues came the smell of blood, he could almost taste the metallic flavour of the red substance strengthening his own thirst for blood.

His long strides came to a halt when amongst the gang of wolves, he saw a girl in drenched attire similar to his sister, her face was a mystery to him under the veil that was her long, brown locks.

Reynah blocked another punch that was thrown at her face, her stamina was running thin after a rogue clawed at her thigh with his elongated claws, blood oozing out of the deep wound.

The pain grew increasingly overwhelming and her reactions to their attacks were weakening. Just then the man she had knocked over earlier punched her straight in the jaw; she nearly collapsed leaning against the wall for support.

"That's right bitch!, that's for ruining my fucking plans." The rogue raised his fist to hit Reynah again, but before his fist could collide with her jaw again, a firm hold prevented him from moving his arm.

"Ah!-Fuck!" the rogue cried out in pain, Alessio's strong grip on his wrist twisted and broke his wrist in a swift motion. The rogue gripped his arm in pain but before he could so much as utter a groan of pain Alessio grabbed his neck, dislocating it from his body.

His other comrades had silently watched the interaction, their feet stuck to the ground in terror, two words running through their minds simultaneously. Alpha Pierce.

They all knew him, knew what he was capable of and what he was going to do to all of them now that they were caught.

With jerky movements they all backed away from the seething Alpha. Noticing their distance, Reynah finally let her legs given in, dropping to the floor in exhaustion.

She looked up at the man who might've just saved her life, his eyes had completely turned into a piercing red, his rage evident. His prominent jawline was strained from the attempt to control of his wolf, who seemed to be growing more restless for reasons unknown to Alessio.

In a flash Alessio had another rogue in his grasp, Reynah wouldn't have seen him move if she blinked. And just like the previous rogue, the man too let out a scream which was later cut off by Alessio clawing at his neck, some blood managing to get onto his face.

"quién es el siguiente?" (Who's next?) Alessio menacingly said to the remaining rogues, dropping the dead body onto the ground, and stepping over it carelessly.

Reynah stared at the lifeless body, she stared at his eyes, they were still open and showed no emotion. Reynah refused to raise her head, hearing the sound of someone choking on their own blood, knowing it was another rogue.

"Lucky last."

"No no no please, please don't kill me, don't k-kill me." The rogue pleaded for his life.

Pathetic.

"You bastards signed your deaths the moment you went after my sister." Alessio commented clawing at the rogues chest causing him fall to the floor.

With that comment Reynah shot up from the ground. "Stop!" Her request went unheard and Alessio finally sentenced the rogue to his death, ripping out his jugular vein with his sharp claws.

Staring at the lifeless body on the ground, Alessio lowly spoke "What did they want with Aspen?"

"Oh they needed directions to the nearest bathroom. How the fuck would I know?" Reynah replied sarcastically, the pain in her thigh made her even more irritable not appreciating the man's attitude.

"I don't appreciate the disrespect, you are on my territory outsider." The Alpha's eyes narrowing at the girl, he turned around getting a good look at her.

"Look, I'm not the idiot who killed the only people who could've answered your questions."

"Yeah well that idiot just saved your life. You better start talking soon."

"I was handling them just fine" Of course Reynah knew she was stretching the truth, but she didn't want to give the man the satisfaction of knowing he had saved her.

"You?"

Reynah rolled her eyes. "Nah the one over there," she said gesturing to one of the dead rogues on the floor.

"I don't think you realise who you're speaking to, I suggest you hold back your snide comments before I show you exactly who I am."

"No need, I'll be on my way, I have to go find someone." She started to walk away from him with a small limp due to her injured thigh.

Alessio noticed this and scoffed. "You're not going to be able to go far with an injury like that."

"I can walk just fine, if you're done with your little murder fest you can leave now." Reynah said not turning around to face him, attempting to get away from the man and find Tobias.

"No outsiders freely go in and out of my territory, let alone come within a 10 mile radius of my sister. You didn't want me to kill them, why?" In a flash he was standing in front of her, his sudden position caught her off guard.

The abrupt stop put a strain on her leg and she began to fall forward. Before she hit the ground she was caught by the same man that caused her stumble in the first place.

Sparks shot through their arms the moment Alessio grabbed Reynah, the smell of woods and cologne invaded her senses. Reynah gasped her legs nearly buckled, and this time it wasn't from her injury.

Alessio stiffened at the addictive smell that suddenly was made apparent to him, in the form of the woman in his arms. His grip on her shoulders tightened.

The two locked eyes and neither made any sign of movement until Alessio pulled Reynah closer to his chest, his nose burying into her neck inhaling her scent deeply.

His grip on Reynah's waist tightened, making Reynah squeak slightly at the pain, her ribs still bruised from the rogue's kick to her abdomen.

Sensing her weakened state Alessio loosened his grip on his mate, his wolf whimpering at seeing his mate hurt.

"Mine" Alessio growled possessively.
