The world was cruel.. but being a child.. we didn't know what was out there.. we were innocent and sheltered from the world outside of the gates. We lived in walls our whole lives not knowing how cruel people were outside of it. We lived in a city called Safety. It was surrounded by walls and soldiers.. we didn't know.. why but always ignored it because why did it matter we were kids.. it was the adults problem...
(MacKenzie's Pov)
"Come on! Hurry we are going to miss it!" William yelled as he ran in front of everyone. He wanted to see the scavengers come back. They were soldiers and scavengers! They looked for supplies and protected us! "Wait for us!"Maddie called out to him as he ran backwards smiling at us.
The gates opened as people walked in. I stared my eyes wide they were so beaten up.. piles of bodies were being carried on wagons. "YOUR WASTING OUR SUPPLIES GOING ON TRIPS!" People yelled as I frowned watching William. He frowned as he looked down at his feet.
"It's okay.. don't worry about it!"I said putting my hand on his shoulder. Sebastian Jason and Maddie stood next to us.
"Yeah.. your right! Let's head home!" He said as I nodded. We all walked to our small hut.our parents left us all alone.. they went out of the walls and never came back.. so we survived alone...
I laid down on my bed staring at the ceiling. "Guys.." Maddie asked. "You awake?"
"I am now.." Sebastian grumbled as I giggled softly. "I'm awake.." I said as she looked over at us all.
"I can't sleep.." she said as I sighed. "Oh.."
"Can I ask a question?" William asked as I looked over at him. "Sure go ahead.." I said as everyone looked over at him.
"Do you promise we will all stay together forever... and always be there for each other.." he asked as I smiled a little.
"I promise." I said. "I promise!" Maddie said. "I promise!!" Sebastian said as he yawned. "I promise.." Jason said as he laid his head down on his pillow.
"Thanks guys.." he said as I smiled laying down and closing my eyes.
"Goodnight Everyone.." I said.
"Goodnight.."
"Night.."
"Night Guys.."
"Goodnight."
THE NEXT MORNING!!
I opened my eyes as i walked to my closet. Maddie and I shared one so did Jason William and Sebastian.
