(Mackenzie's Pov!)
"We have a mission. We need to kill a few members in the empires Elite police Force." Sebastian said looking at two papers. "We are only after two. Jeffery and William." Sebastian said as Emily took a step back her eyes wide. "Jeffery?!?" She gasped clenching her fists. "We can't!" Emily said as I put my hand on her shoulder.
"We chose this path. We have to do things that we don't want to sometimes. That's part of being an assassin." I spoke as Emily stared at me her eyes wide. "If I killed him.. I would have to carry that guilt around with my for my entire life!." She muttered.
"I've killed plenty of our friends. Our past friends are in the way now. Anyone who stands in the way of freedom will be a target and they will have to die. It's the way it is.." I spoke looking to the side.
"How do you carry around that guilt..?" Emily questioned looking over her shoulder at me. "The burden I carry is extremely heavy.. and I've turned that into my strength." I spoke quietly as she stared at me.
"You.. you plan to carry that burden around with you forever..?" Emily muttered a frown on her face. "Yes." I responded shortly.
"That's crazy.. but you are a very talented assassin." Emily said as I patted her back. "We just have to finish the mission." I said giving her a small smile.
"Your right... Okay! Sebastian I'm ready!" Emily said a confident look on her face. "We will all move out now." (Btw Jonas has recovered now but is still slightly weakened due to the attack.)
(TIME-SKIP!)
"Here's the spot. They should be moving through with supplies." Sebastian said staring off the cliff into the valley. "Wait.. Look!" Jason said pointing towards a small group of people. A girl carried A bookbag on her back with a bored look on her face. "W-wait.. Is that.." Emily began but I cut her off. "Taylor." I said as Emily gasped.
"Who's that?" Jonas asked as I narrowed my eyes. "Our cousin." I said shortly. "huh! She's your cousin!" Jason gasped. "We don't have time! we have to kill the targets now." Sebastian said as Jonas used his trump card. He aimed at William and prepared to pull the trigger. "Fire." Sebastian spoke as Jonas pulled the trigger.
The lightning went straight for William. It was gonna hit for sure. "Target 1 Eliminated." Jonas said but as the smoke cleared William stood untouched. Jonas gasped and stared at him amazed. "That's impossible!" Jonas said.
"No... Look Taylor protected him from the attack by pushing him out of the way." Jason said. "How could she have reacted that way! There's no way she could have seen that coming!" Jonas said glaring at her.
"The empire does some pretty messed up experiments.. I wouldn't be surprised if they could heighten your reaction time.." Emily muttered. "I guess our sneak attack is ruined. Let's go in for close range." Sebastian ordered as he jumped off the cliff. He slid down the side of it as we all followed.
"Oh. Freedom. I'm surprised you'd show up. We are extremely skilled." William said as I rolled my eyes. "William and Jeffery. You have selected targets. Prepare to die." Sebastian said pointing at them.
"Hahaha! That's hilarious!" Taylor laughed putting her hand to her face. "I can't wait to cut you apart. I'm gonna enjoy killing you all!" She giggled as she threw the bookbag to the ground. She pulled out her sword and pointed it at us. "Let's see how many will die!" She said in a cheerful voice.
"Yeah.. She's related to Mackenzie and Emily alright.." Tyler said. "Hey! Whats that supposed to mean!" Emily growled.
"You two abandoned me when I needed you most." Taylor said stepping forwards and staring at Emily and I. "We had too. The Empire is wrong and we will save it and promise peace for the new world." I said putting my hand on my heart.
