Troublesome Woman

      Tsubaki smirked while she moved her shogi piece, having fun watching Shikaku's pained expression. It wasn't even a war, it was a massacre. "Make your move already, Shikaku-san~."

     She loved watching cornered prey. She licked her lips in anticipation at his unavoidable doom, that was, if she actually wanted to win. A clack on the board showed that it was now her turn. The Uchiha moved her King piece in the worst possible way and inwardly laughed at the man's confused expression. "Checkmate..."

     With an accusing tone he stated,"You did that on purpose."

     The signature Uchiha smirk graced her face,"Oh~? And what makes you so sure that I just made a bad move?"

     "You're too calculating to make a move such as that. You were in range of capturing my King."

     The onyx eyed girl picked up the her King piece and twirled it around in her fingers,"Sure, but I didn't feel like taking a Nara's title of 'Undefeated' away... It's too much work to have to deal with that."

     He eyed her cautiously,"Why would it be too much work?"

     "Cause of attention. I'm sure you're smart enough to understand. A child genius is not a title I want, no matter how appealing dethroning you sounds."

     Shikaku steeled his nerves. He understood at this moment that Tsubaki was indeed dangerous but could also be an important asset to the village.

      Sasuke's twin held up the King to her eye,"Isn't it nice pulling all the reigns? Having disposable pawns at your beckoning call? However, there are some pawns that can't be disposed, such as yourself, Shikaku-san. You haven't been used to your full potential, right?"

     The Nara's eyebrows shot up. "So everyone is a pawn in your eyes?"

     Hashirama's face flashed into her head. "No matter what happens I will protect our ... no, my village. I still believe that protecting the village is the best way to protect people, shinobi, and children ... Anyone who tries to harm it, whether they are my friends, siblings or my own children ... I won't forgive then."

     Her eyes darkened,"No... Not everyone... Someone once told me "I want you to protect them with all your might." However it may be, I don't plan on losing any pawns. I will protect the village the First Hokage founded..."

     Tsubaki Uchiha abruptedly stood up and murmured,"Thanks for the game Shikaku-san." 

     When she was about the leave, the door suddenly opened. "Otou-sa- What are you doing here?"

     A familiar pineapple head stood in the doorway, a bored expression while staring at her.

     "I was just being interrogated," she cheerfully replied.

     Shikamaru gave her a strange look and sighed,"Troublesome woman."

     "I'll take that as a compliment."

     He let out a longer sigh and asked,"What were you two doing in here?"

     The Nara boy finally looked at the Shogi board and groaned,"Another win for you, huh?" 

     Quickly, Tsubaki replied,"Yes, he won due to my silly move."

     The older man grit his teeth at her statement. He did win due to a silly move she personally  made. Tsubaki was definitely slippery but had some sort of attachment to the village. As if she had owed it to someone. He decided that it was now best for Inoichi to take the reigns on the case.
