Universal Studios is synonymous with their classic monster horror movies. Their horror movies of the 30's, 40's, and 50's were a way to escape from reality. They've managed to escape obscurity by being syndicated on television, especially on Halloween. The Universal Monsters remain iconic to this day. I've gotten the opportunity to watch such classics as Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, Bride of Frankenstein, The Creature From The Black Lagoon, and two of my most favorites, The Wolfman, and Bud Abbott & Lou Costello Meet Frankenstein. My dad and I liked the 1941 Wolfman movie with Lon Chaney Jr. Jack Pierce's makeup effects were well executed, and hold up to this day. When I found out that Universal was planning on remaking The Wolfman, I was excited. I remember seeing the film in theaters with my dad. I'd actually bought two Universal DVD's that gave us free tickets to see the film. I thought the four lead actors did a good job. Rick Baker's makeup effects for the Wolfman were great! And Danny Elfman was great to listen to, as always. Honestly, I don't understand why people say this is a bad remake to the original. It's certainly much better than the 2017 Mummy movie. Benico Del Toro looked just like Lon Chaney Jr. It's a good horror film to watch on Halloween, and worth a look.
