Chapter Twenty Two

"KO!" Enid smiled and waved. KO walked past them.

"Ready to shoot the best video of all time?" Rad asked. KO walked past him, not answering. Enid raised an eyebrow.

"KO?" Enid called. He turned to them.

"What's that now?" He asked.

"We're ready to dance. For the video." Enid said. Rad nodded and pointed at Enid.

"Oh. Sorry, guys. Can't today. Y/n, it's time to go." KO said. Y/n looked up from her book. She set it down and followed KO out.

They walked outside, into the parking lot, and approached Dendy.

"Hello, KO. Hello, Y/n." She greeted as she waved.

"Hiya, Dendy. Sorry we're late." KO said.

"That is no matter." Dendy said.

"I couldn't find my back pack." KO explained.

"Well now that you're here, we can begin. And since we can't go to the lab, we'll have to go behind the plaza." Dendy said.

"Okay. Y/n, you ready?" KO turned to her.

"It's not like we're doing any experiments on me." She laughed.

"I guess not." KO said.

"KO." Dendy called. He turned to her. She leaned close, whispering into his ear. "I'm afraid I may have to conduct some tests on Y/n in order to understand Y/t/n."

"Oh..." KO frowned. He looked at Y/n, who looked confused.

"Come along, you two. We must begin the tests." Dendy said as she led the way. KO and Y/n followed. Little did they know, two others were following them.

They say on the ground, and KO pulled his shirt off. Dendy connected her wires to him, and opened a holographic screen.

"We've been making good progress. If you can handle transforming into Tko, we may be able to harness his energy. Are you ready, KO?" Dendy said. KO nodded. "Okay. Bringing on the stimuli. You're the best, KO!" Dendy smiled brightly as she said it. KO smiled, laughing. "Good. Now to bring in the transformation. You're the worst, KO! You can't do anything! Who would ever want your help? You're nothing but a burden."

KO frowned. Not even seconds in, he started glowing purple, growling. Right before it got any worse, KO gasped, opening his eyes.

"No!" He shouted. Y/n gasped and quickly grabbed him.

"I-It's okay, KO. He didn't come out." She said, comforting him. He sighed, sinking into her grip.

"That was scary. But I think I'm getting the hang of it." He said as he looked at his sweaty hand.

"I agree. We must be getting close." Dendy said as she handed him a juice box.

"KO!" Someone said, startling Dendy as she squished the juice box, soaking KO and Y/n. They looked up and saw Rad and Enid. "I can't believe you're trying to unleash Tko!" Rad said.

"Yeah! Tko's, like, you're evil alter ego! You can't keep stuff like this from your friends!" Enid said. "And Y/n! Were you helping them with this? You of all people should know how dangerous that is!"

"N-No, you don't understand." Y/n said.

"Don't you guys realize how dangerous this is?" Enid asked.

"Yeah! Remember last time Tko fought us? Every bone in my body shattered." Rad said.

"We weren't trying to unleash Tko or Y/t/n! We were just trying to use Tko's energy!" KO said.
