Chapter Twenty Eight

Y/n woke up the next morning, instantly remembering what she was doing today. She sat up and stretched out. She noticed KO wasn't in bed. And the house was oddly quiet.

She stood up and walked over to the door. She opened it, and heard soft talking down the halls. She walked down them and saw Carol, KO, Enid and Rad talking.

"What are we supposed to do? None of us can fight Y/t/n." KO said.

"Do we even know her level? Just how strong is she?" Enid asked.

"Y/n never got a POW Card. I don't know how strong she is." KO said.

"Maybe me and Gar could fight her. We're the strongest in the plaza." Carol said.

"And I could help..." KO said.

"Guys." Y/n walked into the room. They looked at her.

"O-Oh, Y/n... You're awake..." KO said.

"Yeah, and I heard your conversation. I'm going to fight her. Or at least see if she kept her promise. She's my turbo form, so she's my problem." Y/n said.

"We're just worried for you. Your powers come from Y/t/n. What if you're weaker now?" KO asked.

"I'm fine. I'm going to find her and take care of her." Y/n crossed her arms. KO sighed.

"Well we should go see if Boxman ever found her..." He said.

"And if he didn't, I'm gonna go looking for her." Y/n added.

"Well you should get ready for the day." Carol said. Y/n turned and walked back into her shared room. She sat down on the bed and looked out the window.

"Y/n?" KO called as he approached her. She looked at him. "Are you scared?"

"I'm terrified. Y/t/n probably didn't keep her promise. In fact, she's probably planning to kill me because I kept her locked away for so long." Y/n said.

"Y/n... I don't want you to die... I don't know what I'd do if I lost you..." KO said.

"Well now that Y/t/n is free, it's a very likely possibility that I will die. There isn't much we can do to stop her." Y/n said as she stood up. "At the moment, all we can do is hope she kept her promise."

Y/n grabbed her hoodie and walked into the living room, slipping it on. She looked at the others.

"I'm ready." She said.

"Okay. Let's go." Carol said.

"I couldn't find her anywhere! I looked through all my cameras, sent Shannon and Darrel out to find her, and still nothing!" Boxman said.

"But then where could she be?" Y/n asked.

"I'm not sure. But she's definitely got to be planning something if she's hiding from everyone." Boxman said.

"Or maybe she's just scared...?" Y/n said.

"Someone as strong as Y/t/n? No way." Enid said.

"I don't know where else she could have gone. We don't know any other place." Y/n said.

"We'll need to find her, and fast. You and your friends can go look around for her, while I'll look for her with my cameras. She wouldn't run. She would stay and fight. So she's somewhere near. And you need to find her." Boxman said.

"Right. We'll start in the woods behind the plaza. Then move to the city. And if she's not there, we'll check the Dangerous Zone." Y/n said. She turned to the others. "Let's go."

They had decided to split up to search the woods. Enid and Rad together and KO and Y/n together.

As the two walked, the silence was deafening to KO. So he began speaking.

"Y/n, I'm scared..." He said.

"Why? It's not like she's mad at you, and you're not going to stop her from killing me." Y/n said, not making eye contact. She kicked a rock as they walked.

"Yes, I would, Y/n. But that's exactly what I'm scared of. That's she'll try and kill you, and then I'll lose you." KO said.

"I thought we went over this. If I die, I die. It's just what happens. You'll get over it." Y/n said.

"No, I wouldn't. I would never get over you." He stopped and grabbed Y/n's shoulders, making eye contact with her. "We would never be able to move on if we lost you." He said, speaking on a certain someone else's behalf as well. Y/n sighed and wrapped her arms around KO.

"Then I won't leave you. I promise I won't die. I'll stay with you both forever." She said as she hugged him.

"Good. We don't want to lose you." KO said. Y/n pulled away. She looked at KO and smiled.

"KO, Y/n." Someone called. The two turned and saw Enid and Rad approaching.

"We didn't find her. And it's starting to get late. Maybe we should head home." Enid said. Y/n sighed.

"Okay. Tomorrow, we can try and take a break to take our minds off her. Maybe she won't come out for a while. She's probably planning something." Y/n said.

"Right. You need to take your mind of it. C'mon, Y/n." KO took her hand in his and began walking back.

"Let's just hope she doesn't come out tomorrow..." Y/n said.
