Chapter Thirty

KO heard the front door swing open and slam shut. He sat up from his bed and walked out of his room. He saw Y/n had come home.

"Y/n! You weren't gone very long." KO said.

"I just had to ask Dad some questions. I know how to beat Y/t/n now!" Y/n exclaimed, smiling. KO frowned.

"Y/n, I thought you were gonna try and take your mind off her for today..." He said.

"Well, they were mainly supposed to be about my mom, but it eventually turned into questions about Y/t/n. But I found out how to beat her!" Y/n said. KO sighed and smiled.

"How do you plan on stopping her?" He asked.

"First, I'm gonna get some glorbs from that place under the plaza. Then, I'm gonna use them to boost my power and take on Y/t/n!" Y/n said. KO raised an eyebrow.

"But isn't using glorbs dangerous...?" He asked.

"Not for me! I found out that glorb energy is my DNA! And since Y/t/n only has natural turbo energy, she will have a small chance of beating me!" Y/n said, seemingly happy that she was putting herself in a dangerous situation.

"But, Y/n... What if you do get hurt? I don't want that..." KO said. Y/n placed her hands on his shoulders.

"I'll be fine. Don't worry. As soon as Y/t/n comes out of hiding, I'll take care of her." Y/n said. KO sighed and wrapped his arms around her sides.

"Don't get hurt. I'll be sad, then. I can't lose you..." KO said.

"KO, I promise you, I won't get hurt." She said. KO pulled away, holding her hands.

"Good. Now, come on. I want you to rest." He said as he led her to their shared room, making sure she went to sleep.

He was going to protect her, no matter what. Even if it meant letting Tko loose, he would make sure nothing happened to Y/n, ever.

Y/n woke up the next day, feeling someone gently nudging her shoulder.

"Y/n, get up. We've got work today." The familiar voice from KO said. Y/n groaned and stretched out, opening her eyes. She sat up and looked at KO, who was still in his pajamas.

Y/n got up and walked into the living room, where Carol was cooking.

"Hey, kiddo! KO up yet?" She asked. Y/n nodded.

"Yeah, he's coming. He wanted to change first." Y/n said. Carol handed Y/n a plate of food.

"Are you sure you're ready for work today?" She asked. Y/n sighed.

"I can't let Y/t/n stop me from living my life." She said. Carol sighed and sat down next to Y/n.

"Yep, I guess you're right." She said.

"I'm ready!" KO exclaimed as he walked into the living room. Carol smiled.

"All right! Once Y/n's done getting ready and you eat, we can go!" She said.

Y/n set her plate of food down once she was done and walked into her room. She grabbed her clothes and her familiar f/c hoodie and changed in the bathroom. She brushed her hair and teeth and walked into the living room.

"I'm ready." She said. Carol stood up from her spot on the couch.

"All right! Let's go!" She said as she walked out of the house, the two children following.

They got into the vehicle, Carol starting it. They buckled up, and the ride began.

"I'm excited to get back to work, aren't you, Y/n?" KO said. Y/n nodded.

"It will be a nice distraction from Y/t/n. I can focus more on work and seeing the others." She said.

They saw the plaza in the distance, indicating that they were there. Carol pulled into the parking lot, and the vehicle shut off.

She got out and opened the doors for them. They climbed out. She ruffled KO's hair.

"I gotta go to work. I'll see you later!" Carol said as she walked away. KO waved goodbye to his mother, then turned to Y/n.

"C'mon. I'm sure Enid and Rad will be happy to see we're back." KO said. They walked inside, and were greeted by the two teenagers.

"KO, Y/n! You're back!" Enid said as the two walked up to them. "How was your little break?"

"I had fun with my mom, but Y/n wouldn't rest at all. She went to talk with Boxman." KO said.

"And I found out how to beat Y/t/n!" Y/n exclaimed.

"And how do you plan on doing that? She's way stronger than any of us!" Rad said.

"Well, it turns out that I have glorb energy in my DNA. I can just use glorbs to help me become stronger, and then I can beat her!" Y/n said. Enid raised an eyebrow.

"Isn't that a little dangerous?" She asked.

"I'll be fine. I can beat Y/t/n, you just wait and--" Y/n was cut off by a loud explosion. She whipped around, looking outside. She gasped. "Oh no..."
