Protecting Mr. Wimp

Chapter 4

'Why is the mattress so hard and cold all of a sudden?' Michael thought as he popped one eye open and looked around. His eyes widened as realization dawned on him; he had been thrown to the floor by no other than Gina. He scowled and sat up; he glared at her peaceful figure sleeping contentedly at his bed. What's her problem? She can't just throw him off the bed when he was the one who took it first! He was annoyed by her.

He was muttering under his breath when suddenly, an idea formed in his mind, something devious, but still worth the trouble.

He grinned evilly, stood up and went over to her, he leaned down to her ear and shouted, "Wake up, Gina!" as soon as he said this, her fist came in compact with his jaw. He stumbled backwards and clutched his jaw groaning in pain.

"That's what you get for messing with me, Travis." Gina spat at him, as she sat up in bed and glared at him, he glared back.

"What did I do?" He snapped at her, caressing his minor injured jaw.

"First, you let me sleep on the floor. Second, you also had the nerve to wake me up by screaming in my ear!"

"You weren't even sleeping on the floor when I woke up; I was sleeping on the floor. That's why I woke you up by screaming in your ear, you can't just throw me to the floor whenever you feel like it!"

"Of course I can." she retorted smugly.

He cocked an eyebrow at her, "Oh really?"

"Don't try me, Travis. I just might do it."

He snorted, "Yeah, right." He grabbed some fresh clothes from his bag and walked over to the bathroom to take a shower. What's the point of arguing with her? She just wants to act all tough, so be it. He thought.

He didn't reach the bathroom, though before he could even lay a finger on the knob he was stopped by a hand grabbing his arm.

"What?" He turned to Gina with an annoyed expression on his face.

"I'm going first." she declared.

"No, I am."

She raised an eyebrow at him, "Do you want to fight with me, Travis?"

He smirked, "Nah, I wouldn't want you to get hurt since you're my 'bodyguard'. Go ahead, miss." He stepped aside, "Besides, I'm not the kind to fight girls." He added.

She raised her eyebrows at him, amused at the size of his ego. Actually, his arrogance infuriated her, the way he constantly assumed he's stronger and way better than her. Well, then. He doesn't know her at all.

Letting the matter go, -In other words, completely ignoring Michael's annoyingly arrogant behavior-she walked over to her bag on the floor, crouched down to its level and took out her clothes. She got up, walked over to the bathroom, locking the door and preparing to shower.

'I'll show him for sure, his ego would be deflated once he sees what I can do. Just wait and watch jerk.' She thought.

She was in the middle of rinsing her hair when she heard a girl scream, she gasped. Should she help her? It's her job only to protecting Michael but she could still help the girl, right?

Deciding to go see what the scream was about she washed off the remains of her shampoo, turned off the shower and got dressed. She opened the door to see...
