Protecting Mr. Wimp
Chapter 29
His jaw dropped in shock, "What? That's it? What... what about her sister? What happened to her parents? Where was she before she came here? Wh-"
Evelyn sighed, cutting him off, "I don't know, Michael. If I did, I would've told you. I have the same questions as yours but I never pestered her to tell me. So that's all I know."
"What? You should've asked her to tell you more!"
She rolled her eyes at him, "But I didn't, okay? I don't want to pressure her into anything."
He rolled his eyes at her in annoyance, "Great. Now what?" Evelyn muttered something under her breath. He made a face at her, "What?"
"I said I asked her if I could come along the next time she visits her sister, and she said I could come..."
"What?! You asked her if you could come? Why didn't you do the same for me?" He demanded.
"Well, do you want her to know that you're doing a research on her?"
"Well... I..." He pursed his lips, she was right.
She nodded, "Just as I thought. Now, if you don't mind, I want to get some sleep. " She turned and started to arrange her bed. "And I think you should go and get some sleep as well. You can't even think straight right now, do you know how many times you've said 'what' in the past few minutes?"
He huffed and stood up, "Yeah, yeah... I'm going mother, yeesh." He reached the door but before he could open it, he turned around and said, "But I'm not done with this Gina situation, yet. Tomorrow we'll make her tell us everything. Got it?"
Evelyn nervously stared at him for a moment, she didn't think it was a good idea but she wanted to help Gina, right? Sighing, she reluctantly nodded, "Okay, but... if things start to... "
"I understand, Eve. I won't pressure her either. Good night." With that, he opened the door and stepped outside into the hallway, heading over to his room.
He sighed again and ran a hand through his hair. He hoped Gina would actually open up to him and Evelyn, he didn't know if his plan would work but he was determined to make Gina happy. He hasn't seen anyone so sad, but he knows the feeling. He knows what Gina's going through right now, after all, he went through it once too.
'Don't worry, Gina. I'll help make you see the brighter side of things, just wait.' He thought.

She paced back and forth in front of the front door, up and ready at 6:30 AM. Was he really going to come? She wasn't so sure, after all, he is known as the 'prankster'. For all she knows, she might be being pranked at the very moment!
She huffed in annoyance as she continued pacing. What if he doesn't come? What will she do then? Of course there is a greater chance that she'll end up waiting and he wouldn't show up. After all, they don't even know each other! She was stupid enough to call him, yet even more stupid enough to believe that he will actually help her.
She stopped pacing for a moment and fished out her phone, unlocking it, she looked at the time then groaned, it was only 6:35. She scowled, irritated then shoved her phone back in her pocket and continued pacing.
What will she do for half an hour? What was wrong with the clock today? She was sure it was moving slower than usual. Ugh, if she seriously ends up waiting, she will surely execute Tyler whenever she sees him.
"Um, Gina? Why are you pacing at... 6:37 in the morning?" A feminine voice inquired.
She almost jumped all the way to the ceiling when she heard Evelyn's voice, she wasn't expecting anyone to be up so early. Placing a hand on her pounding heart, she stared at her, wide-eyed, "Geez, Eve, is this payback for the time I snuck up on you?"
