Protecting Mr. Wimp
Chapter 2
He was lying on his bed since eight in the morning, it was now twelve. Staring up at the ceiling he couldn't get rid of the nagging feeling in his gut. A feeling that told him that something bad is going to happen.
A few minutes later he sat up, maybe he should try talking to his dad about this. His dad was always about the 'A man should be tough' stuff. He would disagree with the idea of having a bodyguard.
Excited with this new idea, he jumped up from his bed and went into the bathroom to have a shower.
Few minutes later he was all freshened-up. He trotted down the steps to the living room where his dad was sitting.
He sighed as he sat beside his dad on the couch. He turned his head to look over at his dad who was watching football. He sighed louder trying to get his dad's attention, but no response.
Finally, he rolled his eyes and started, "Dad, I don't want a bodyguard." He had tried convincing his mother that he can take care of himself and he doesn't want a bodyguard but his mom won't budge. His dad will surely agree with him.
"Are you sure about that son?" His dad asked.
Michael looked at his dad, shocked. He can't agree with this can he? "Yeah, Of course I'm sure!" He answered a bit baffled.
His dad looked at the remote in his hand then back at him. He wore a thoughtful expression on his face but after a few minutes, he did something no normal father would do to his son; he threw the remote at him. Guess his dad isn't much normal.
"Ow, dad! What did you do that for?" He exclaimed, rubbing his forehead where the remote hit him as his dad grabbed the remote again.
His dad looked at him, "You see, son? You have no reflexes, you are not capable to protect yourself, you need a bodyguard and that's final."
He couldn't believe what he was hearing, dad too? Well, that plan goes down the drain.
"You didn't even give me a heads up!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air. 'He should at least give me a warning!' He thought.
"When a man will come to kill you, he would not say, 'Heads up, Michael! I'm about to kill you!' " His dad said, sarcastically.
He made a face at his dad, "What kind of a father are you?"
His dad chuckled, "One of a kind." with that, he stood up and left.
'Oh dear Lord, give me strength' Michael thought.

Michael casually strutted down the stairs an apple in one of his hand and the other hand texting. He glanced up and saw a glimpse of a girl, then went back to texting.
He realized what he saw and froze. ’Oh please, God. Don't let her be my bodyguard, anyone but a girl!' The thought of having a girl as a bodyguard horrified him, having a girl as someone to protect him is a major bruise to his ego, no man would want that. He was afraid to ask his dad the horrifying question so he thought of something.
He glanced at his phone, 'Oh well, it's just a phone right?' He thought and with a tremulous expression he flung his phone towards the girl, aiming for her head but before it could reach her, in one swift movement she caught the phone.
He walked over to the couch where his dad and the girl were sitting and gaped at her. How did she catch it without even knowing it was coming her way?
