Protecting Mr. Wimp
Chapter 25
They both gaped at the screen, completely speechless. What had happened? They didn’t know. How it happened? They didn’t know that either. Why it happened? They had no clue. Yet, it still happened.
To say that they were shocked would be the understatement of the century. They felt like they couldn’t even show their faces in public. Why was that? Well, because…
“We will not speak of this ever again,” Michael grumbled, he was the first one to snap out from the shock as he leaned back into the couch and crossed his arms over his chest, a scowl evident on his face.
"Dude..." Logan let out a breath and leaned back into the couch as well, running a hand through his hair as his shoulders slumped and he stared at the screen in a daze, "I can't believe we lost to... to a girl!"
"Yeah! Can you believe it? And I bet it was her first time playing!"
"Yet she still won like a pro, that's some beginner's luck. Wish I had it."
Gina frowned in confusion at the duo, not really getting what they meant. "I won...?"
Michael shot her a glare, "Don't say anything, Logan, it's just a trick to get us to admit that she's better than us."
Logan looked from him, to Gina, then back at him, "Uh... I think you already did admit that she's better than us, Mike."
Michael turned to him and glowered, "You just had to point that out, didn't you?"
He shrugged, "Eh, it doesn't even matter. We lost to a girl, so what?"
"Yeah... you're right. We lost to a girl, big deal. It's not like we're telling anyone." He grinned.
Logan pounded fists with him and they both let out a short laugh, "Yeah, man! We're so keeping this secret to ourselves."
"I'm not ever letting her play again."
"Totally agreed, man."
With a last round of laughter, they resumed playing the game while Gina just stared at them with her eyebrows raised, "Did I just suddenly ceased to exist?" They both ignored her and focused on the game, she huffed and rolled her eyes at them.
She just sat there and watched them play their game, but after a while she got bored. Standing up, she glanced back at Logan and Michael to see that they were still engrossed in the game. Rolling her eyes at them, she left the living room.
She bounded up the steps to her room, but then remembered that she didn't have anything to do. What would she do inside her room? Nothing, that's what. But, where should she go? What could she even do?
Her face lit up a bit when she thought up of a place to go to. Turning around, she trotted down the steps and made her way to the back-yard, she had been in the mansion for quite some time so now navigating through it wasn't so hard.
A gush of wind hit her face as soon as she stepped outside, it made her smile, she loved it whenever the wind hit her face, because to her, it was kind of refreshing.
Walking over to a spot in the grass, she sat down and gazed at the view in front of her. The Travis' had done a really good job keeping their back-yard maintained, it was so beautiful and... green, everything about it was so peaceful but that was before a scream was heard, and it seemed like it was getting louder and louder.
Her eyes widened as she realized that the voice was getting closer to her and upon reflex, she rolled out of the way. A mess of brunette hair rushed by her and instantly an image popped into her mind, Tessa.
