Protecting Mr. Wimp
Chapter 28
"Excuse me? Who is this? And how did you get my number?"
She sighed, she should've expected this. What was she thinking anyways? Calling a person she barely even knew for two minutes and asking for his help? She almost snorted at her stupidity, who in their right mind would agree to help some stranger, unless, of course, they're threatened. But she couldn't threat this person, that wouldn't help her at all if she scared this guy away.
"Hello...? Hello? Anyone there? Is this a prank?"
She realized she hadn't replied to him for a while and snapped back to reality, making a face at the last question. She wanted to be sarcastic and reply, 'What is this? Twenty questions?' but she didn't have time to fool around, she had to teach Michael how to fight and get this job done and over with. For now, at least.
"Hello..." He drawled.
She rolled her eyes before answering, "I heard you, I was just thinking something."
There was a pause before he answered, or, to be precise, panicked, "Who is this? Are you a stalker? Oh my God! I have a stalker?! What the hell were you thinking? Were you planning my death? Or ways to kidnap me? Oh God, this is just... How did you-"
She gritted her teeth in anger then practically shouted in the phone, "Shut up! Just shut up! What's wrong with you? I'm not a stalker! I'm Gina, and I want your help! I got your number from Mr. Travis! God, you're so annoying! No wonder you can get Travis mad! Ugh, seriously, what-"
"Wait, wait, hold on. You're not my stalker? And did you say, 'Mr. Travis'? Do you know Matthew Travis? Or did you use your stalker ways to seek that information too? Or are you-"
If she was annoyed before, she was fuming with rage now. "If you don't stop talking right now. I swear, I'll hunt you down and make sure you'll have the disability to speak for a really long time!" She heard him laugh. He was laughing. The jerk was actually laughing! "Why the hell are you laughing?!" She demanded angrily.
"It's just... you're so..." He started laughing again.
She was clutching the phone so hard that at one point, she was sure it would break into two. It's a good thing that the phone had a hard cover, or else the poor thing would've been smashed into bits.
Gina noticed her death grip on the phone and reminded herself to keep her cool. She closed her eyes and counted to ten while Tyler kept laughing on the other end, his laughter was only fueling up her anger but she managed to calm down a bit and loosened her grip on the phone.
Taking a deep breath, she opened her eyes and calmly asked, "Is there a reason that you're laughing?"
"Just a sec." She heard him take a deep breath. Probably trying to control his laughter, then he replied, "This is the most I've laughed in days!" Then he laughed lightly again.
"Don't! Don't start laughing again, please. I've had enough of that, thanks." She rolled her eyes.
"Ah, sarcasm, annoyance, anger. I really missed these things. Yeah, those were the days..."
"Yeah, okay. Sorry to interrupt your nostalgic moment but, what the hell are you talking about?" She was utterly confused. One moment, he's freaking-out, another he's laughing like mad and then he's all sobered up and talking about something she doesn't understand at all? Bipolar much?
"Oh, don't be sorry. Though, when I'll tell you this, I'm sure you'll be expecting my apology."
"What're you talking about? Do I have to keep repeating myself, or are you going to proceed with your riddles?" She asked, starting to get annoyed again. This guy really was infuriating!
