Protecting Mr. Wimp

Chapter 9

"Bye, Logan. It was nice meeting you." She smiled at him.

"Anytime Gina," He grinned at her, "Michael" He gave a curt nod at his direction and Michael just grumbled, Logan chuckled and said, "'Kay, guys, be safe, bye!" And with that, he sped off.

Gina stood there, looking towards the direction Logan went until she heard Michael grumble, "I shouldn't have handed him my Lamborghini."

She gave him a flat look, "Stop being such a wimp, the ride wasn't so bad."

He shot her a glare, "Not that bad? I thought I was going to die!"

She rolled her eyes at him, "You're so melodramatic."

He looked away from her and grumbled under his breath, "She would've never gotten on that thing, if she was capable of emotions."

She raised her eyebrows at him, "I heard that."

"Good, you were supposed to." He snapped and walked away from her, going into the forest.

She rolled her eyes at him and followed. Going deeper and deeper into the forest, with their flash lights and back packs that Logan gave them since Mr. Travis didn’t have a place for them to stay they had to stay in the forest for a bit.

Stopping near a shady tree, they dropped their stuff to the ground and sat on the logs.

A moment of silence passed by and Gina snuck a glance at Michael. He was scowling at the tree in front of him. She sighed, he was mad about the fact that they made him face his fear; it wasn't so bad if you ask her, but to Michael it was.

"Mike, just stop it okay? It wasn't so bad." She finally said.

"It's easier for you to say." He snapped.

"It was just a ride Michael, get over it."

"I told you, I do not like roller-coasters but you, being the merciless, heartless, cruel person you are, decided to send me up on that thing."

"You can't blame all of it on me, Michael." She snapped, suddenly getting angry. Why was he blaming her? He could've declined the dare if he was so scared. "Why are you so afraid of it anyways?"

He snorted, "Isn't it obvious? I'm a wimp aren't I?"

She frowned at his answer, that couldn't be it. Sure, he wasn't that brave and all but even the people who are afraid of things won't get so worked up about something as petty as this. Gina did not believe his answer, he was hiding something for sure.

"I know that's not it, Mike. Are you afraid of heights?"

He opened his mouth to retort, but then closed it and glared at her, "Forget it; I'm going to sleep now." He stood up, grabbing his back pack and walking far away from her. He dropped it to the ground and lay down, using the backpack as a pillow.

Gina sighed, sometimes; she just didn't know what to do. She dropped her back-pack to the ground, and mimicked Michael's position. This was going to be a long night...

She glanced over at the sleeping figure far away from her and moved towards it. She made sure he was sleeping then walked off into the woods, taking a flash-light with her.

As soon as she was sure that she was a good distance away from him, she took a deep-breath and pulled out her phone, punching the number for her old phone she waited as the bell rang. Tapping her foot impatiently until the phone was answered.
