Protecting Mr. Wimp
Chapter 14
He was sprawled out on his bed, snoring softly, having a pleasant slumber. Twisting and turning once in a while, life was good. That was until...
"Ah!" He screamed awake, sitting up in bed, his clothes drenched in cold water. He looked down at his soaked shirt, holding it away from his body. He looked up at the murderer of his favorite shirt, feeling furious. "Why have you made it your life's goal to ruin my life, Gina? Why?" He wailed.
She rolled her eyes at him, “Quit whining, it’s just water. Besides, Mrs. Travis wants to talk to us. So hurry up and get ready for breakfast.” She turned around and walked away, leaving him drenched and glaring at her back.
He sighed in irritation and got up, walking over to the bathroom to get ready, ‘Stupid girl.’ He thought.
Gina entered the kitchen and placed the bucket on the floor. She walked over to the breakfast table and sat down, Lorianne placed pancakes in front of her and she gave her a small smile, “Thanks.”
“No need to thank me, Mistress made this.” Lorianne replied, smiling at Gina and then turning around to walk away.
Gina stared down at the pancakes, thinking, ‘Wow, Mrs. Travis must really like to cook, unless, Lorianne calls the chef ‘Mistress’ as well.’
She picked up her fork and just when she was about to dig in, her pancake disappeared. She blinked, where did it go? She looked up to see Michael stuffing his face with one of her pancakes. She glared daggers at him but he ignored her and took a seat at the table, Lorianne quickly placed a plate of pancakes in front of him and he stared stuffing them into his mouth, eating them like the world was going to end any second and he has to finish his last plate of pancakes before it was too late.
Gina made a face at him and sank her fork into one of the pancakes, suddenly not feeling hungry anymore. She was thinking about her sister again, she frowned. How could she eat when she doesn't even know if her sister's okay or not? How can she enjoy this kind of food when her sister didn't even see proper food for years. This made Gina's heart clench with guilt and sorrow, tears started to sting her eyes and she tried to blink them away, but then the tears became more frequent and she realized that she wouldn't be handle it so she muttered an 'excuse me' and ran over to the nearest bathroom, which was quite difficult to find because the mansion was practically a maze.
Yanking the door of the bathroom open she closed it behind her and pressed her back against the door, she pulled her knees up to her chest and broke out into tears.
Her fists clenched sub-consciously at the thought of the man who caused all this, she hated him with every living cell in her body. If only her father hadn't put so much trust in him, everything would've been fine by now.
Suddenly, fueling up with anger she furiously wiped away her tears. She shouldn't cry, crying never solves anything and it's a sign of weakness, Gina was anything but weak.
Just when she was about to stand up and splash her face with water to cool herself down, the door opened and she fell backwards, she let out a slight gasp in surprise.
She stared at the ceiling, until someone's face came into view. Well, what do you know? It's Michael.
He peered down at her with a confused expression, "Uh... Any particular reason you're on the ground?"
She sat up, "Yeah, I just wanted to clean the floor with my back." She said, sarcastically.
He rolled his eyes at her sarcastic remark, "Whatever, Mom's calling you. Hurry up."
