I was about to try walking away from the guy but before I could, I was pushed onto the ground in like a second.
"Wh-what just happened?" The guy put his face closer to mine staring at me and was breathing somewhat heavily. He then went up to my ear and whispered to me.
"You better learn to mind your own business because the next time this happens, I won't be so nice about it." He got up and I was still laying on the floor in shock. Him and the two people who were standing next to him walked away. Jace came up to me and held out his hand for me. I took it and stood up.
"Who are they?" I asked looking in the direction the three people walked.
"Just some people I know. But he's right. You should just mind your own business."
"I'm not gonna let you get pushed around like that."
"You barely even know me. Why are you trying to stick up for me?" I looked down at the ground and twirled a strand of my hair around my finger.
"I can't stand seeing people get bullied like that. It just makes me really mad." I heard Jace sigh and I looked up at him.
"Look Jade for your safety, just stay out of my business. Its better to keep it that way."
"What do you mean my safety?"
"Nevermind. I'll see you tomorrow." Jace started walking away. I was about to call out to him but I decided not to. I just sighed and turned the other way heading home again.
Once I got home, my mom and dad came rushing into the living room looking extremely worried.
"Honey where have you been? Me and your father were very worried about you." My mother wrapped her arms around me and hugged me.
"I'm fine mom. I just helped Mia with her bakery after school. And I'm helping her for the rest of the week if that's okay."
"That's fine. We're just glad you're okay." I gave my parents a weak smile and headed up to my room. I closed my door and fell right into my bed. I decided to look at my phone and saw that my phone was blown up with messages from Emily and Abigail in our group chat.
Emy💖: Jade did you make it home ok?
Peach🍑: Heyyy Jaaaaade. You home yet??
Emy💖: did your phone die or something?
Emy💖: I'm getting a bit worried.
Peach🍑: me too...
Emy💖: Jade..
Peach🍑: Jaaaade....
Emy💖: JADE!!!
Jj💀: I'm home. Sorry about that.. 😅
Emy💖: what happened?!
Jj💀: nothing
Peach🍑: something obviously happened. Tell us

Jj💀: well... When I was walking home I saw some people pretty much jumping someone and I found out it was Jace getting jumped...
Emy💖: wow..
Jj💀: ya. I told them to leave Jace alone and one of the guys who was attacking Jace grabbed my hair and kept pulling it telling me to mind my own business.
Jj💀: I ended up kicking the guy in a certain "area" and he got really pissed and pinned me to the ground saying if I get involved in his business again he won't be so nice about it...
Peach🍑: whoa
Emy💖: damn... Well you should probably not be around Jace then
Jj💀: I can't really do that. Project remember
Emy💖: right...
Peach🍑: what are you gonna do?
Jj💀: I'll just try keeping my nosy self out of things. I honestly don't want to come across that guy again...
Jj💀: his f-ing eye was glowing red.
Emy💖: F THAT!!!
Peach🍑: people don't have red eyes Jade..
Jj💀: he did
Emy💖: is he a human?! Or is it a rare eye thing?

Emy💖: Oooooh right! Then that's f-ing weird

~about an hour goes by~
Jj💀: I can't ignore it. WHO IN THE HELL HAS RED EYES IN THIS WORLD?!?!
Emy💖: idk...
Peach🍑: I dunno
Jj💀: I want to ask Jace about it but he doesn't want me getting into his business for "my safety"
Jj💀: whatever the hell that means...
Emy💖: is he in some sort of gang or something??
Jj💀: highly doubt it
Peach🍑: contacts!!
Emy💖: what?
Peach🍑: maybe the guy was wearing contacts
Jj💀: his eye was glowing Abi...
Peach🍑: oh... Right
Jj💀: I'll try doing some research about it.
I set my phone down on my bed and went to my desk turning on my computer. I put in my password and went to Google to possibly find answers about red eyes. So far all I saw was websites about red contacts. I started thinking that Abigail was possibly right. Besides there was light so maybe it was shining in his eyes making them glow?
I was about to stop searching entirely until I found a certain website. It caught my attention cause it said nothing about contacts so I clicked on it. I started reading it and it seemed like it was a bunch of nonsense. Maybe it was fake? I kept reading and came across vampire eye colors. Apparently if they don't consume blood for two weeks, their eyes would turn black.
"They were red." I said to myself out loud. I kept reading.
"They go from being their natural color red or gold depending on their diet, and darken as they get more thirsty. Well... They were pretty dark." I quickly shut off my computer and got back into my bed grabbing my phone.
