Chapter 47

(Brandon)

Jade started doing a lot better after a few hours. Her right eye kept changing from a light emerald green card to a dark swampy green color. Usually when it went dark, she would zone out so we figured it was Xavier trying to talk to her. He had to go under thankfully but we're all still worried she won't be able to hold him off for long.

We finished packing everything in Jade's room so all that was left was her bed and her desk. We decided to wait till her parents got home to decide what to do with them. We placed the packed boxes in the garage and hung around in the living room. Emily had a Jade a phone which I'm assuming was hers. Jade went through it and started typing. I'm assuming she's messaging her parents or something.

Jade hasn't talked much after she woke up. She would either look scared, somewhat happy, or just plain emotionless. It worried us. I don't know everything that happened before I met them but it's clearly something bad if we were vampires are out to kill them just because one of them is dating a good vampire. I'm not fully sure how I got pulled into this mess but I hope I can help them as much as I can.

A few more hours passed and we heard a car pull up into the driveway. Jade quickly got up and went to the front door. She opened it and ran outside. The rest of us followed her. Her parents came home and there was a U-haul truck parked outside as well. As soon as Jade's parents got out of their car, Jade ran into her mother's arms. When they let go, she went to her dad and lastly, her older sister who came out of the U-Haul truck.

"Is everything OK? Did something happen while we were gone?" Jade's mom asked with the sound of worry and her voice.

"No. I just really missed you guys and I'm glad you're all safe." Jade was it making eye contact with any of them. I guess her eye is still being messed up. We all went back inside and end of the living room. Jace pulled Jade into her room and close the door. So one of two things is going to happen. 1... They're going to... You know, I shivered at that thought. Or 2... He's talking to her about something important. I'm really hoping it's the second option.

I took Jade to her room and looked her in both of her eyes. Her right eye was brighter than earlier but not as bright as her left. I think Xavier slowly leaving her alone. I hope he is. She looked at me confused.

"You OK?"

"Yeah. I was just looking at your eye. Is he still talking to you?" She shook her head. That made me smile. "Good. How are you feeling?"

"A lot better than earlier. I don't know what he's trying to do to me but I want him to stop."

"Me too. But we're going to put a stop to this somehow." Her face lit up and she smile. Been a long after, my smile faded. I never meant to drag her or her friends into my mess. I don't even know why my parents in rolled me into her school. All they told me was that they wanted me to have a normal life and to try and forget the fact that I'm a vampire but I feel as if they haven't told me the whole truth.

"What's the matter?" Jade asked as she cupped my face in her hands.

"I just... All of this happened to you because of my parents registering me to your school. I wanted to hide my identity from everyone but from that project, you found out who I really am. And once you found out, I needed to get away from you but you found me somehow. And after that, I couldn't resist you or your stubbornness."

"Jace..." Jade tried to speak but I cut her off.

"You're moving because of me, you almost died because of me, and now you're being hunted because of me. I never planned on coming back aftee Jason tried to kill you and you told me to leave but once I found out Xavier started to talking to you, I needed to keep you away from him but I failed and he almost killed you. I don't understand why you're still with me. Why are you?"

"I don't know why either but my heart wants you and I'm listening to it. The fact that you're trying to protect me means everything to me. I'm pretty sure any other guy would just leave me to die. Yeah all of this happened because I met you, but I'd rather give my heart to you than anyone else. We're going to stop Xavier one way or another I'm sure of it." My face lit up and a bright smile. Between my cheeks. We hope each other tightly in before we let go of each other, we sure the deep and passionate kiss.

The kiss continued for about five minutes until we heard... "Guys!!" Shouted from the living room. We pulled away from each other and rushed to everyone. They looked towards the TV in shock and horror. Me and Jade turned to the TV and a sketch of a person that looks like me was displayed on the screen.

"Real age unknown but looks about 17 to 18 years old, goes by the name Jess Matthews." The reporter said and then another sketch showing on the screen. It kind of looked like Xavier. It wasn't fully accurate but I'm pretty sure it's him. "Name is unknown as well as age. Possibly around the age of 19 to 20 years old." And finally a sketch of Maribeth came up. "Maribeth. Last name and age unknown but looks around the age of 15 to 17 years old. Police are on the lookout for these three potential vampires and are wanted to be brought in for questioning." Jade immediately muted the TV.

Everyone looked in my direction in horror. My body froze and I couldn't do or say anything.

"Why are you looking for you?" Brandon are slightly panicking.

" I don't know! Jason is probably trying to make me look like the bad guy or something." I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration.

"Those two officers that were with Victoria's dad took Jason to the police station though didn't they?" Abigail asked if she looked at all of us in confusion.

"Yeah. And I'm gonna have to go to not look suspicious." Jade grabbed my hand tightly and that cause me to look at her.

" I'll go with you." She kissed my cheek and smiled.

"We're going to. Have a bad feeling somethings going to happen." Emily stepped forward.

"Mia will drive you guys tomorrow. I was hoping we could leave by tomorrow or the day after but Jace is right. He'll look suspicious." Jade's mom stated as she looked at her husband then back at the rest of us. We all nodded in agreement.
