Chapter 43

"Who is that?" Derek asked looking at all of us with a confused and concerned expression. I couldn't think clear enough to answer so I stayed silent hoping someone else can tell him who was on the screen. Thankfully Jace did.

"I got to go mom. I'll call you when I'm on my way home. I love you." I quickly hung up the phone and put it back into my pocket.

"He's one of the guys that attacked me and Jade. He was taken by the police but the other got away without anyone noticing." Jace wrapped his arms around me in an attempt to comfort me and it was working. Slowly but surely.

"It's been claimed by a few unknown sources and a group of 3 policemen that you are in fact a vampire. Is this true? If so, how many more of you are there?" The news reporter asked Jason on the television. He was sitting on a wooden chair in a place that didn't quite look familiar to me.

He was chained to the chair which I'm assuming is to keep him from trying to run away. He also had two giant black cuffs on both of his wrists that had a small flashing red light. I can't tell what that's used for that.

Jason stayed silent while being interrogated by the news reporter. There were two officers standing behind him and one of them shoved Jason trying to make him talk. He still said nothing.

"Maybe he's keeping quiet for Xavier?" Abigail suggested and we all turned to her.

"It's a possibility..." I was cut off by Jace.

"There's no way. If anything, it's to protect his sister. He doesn't give a shit about Xavier. Plus his sister is probably hiding with Xavier or on her own. That part I can't tell."

"Well either way, we need to find a way to get him to leave us the hell alone. Instead of just moving schools, why don't we move to an entirely new state? There's no way he'd find us if we leave this place." Emily suggested. When I think about it, that's not a bad idea. My parents would definitely agree to that, but I'm not sure about anyone else's parents.

Plus, Derek would still be here while we're gone somewhere else. He might get extremely worried since he's not exactly a part of this whole mess. Ugh! We're figure this shit out later.

"My family will definitely agree to that." I said while crossing my arms. "They're willing to do anything that doesn't involve vampires." I quickly looked over at Jace who was already looking at me. "Not counting you obviously. They like you." He smirked at me and I felt my face heat up a little. He looked away and back towards the t.v.

Jason looked like he was about to say something so I got everyone else's attention to the t.v. He was looking directly at the camera. As if... he were talking to someone.

"Hey Jace... my little buddy. I know you and your little girlfriend are watching this. Don't think you'll get away that easy. I might've been caught but not for long. And Jade... my sweet little doll... me and Xavier aren't done with you yet. Don't think you can hide from us forever. We'll find you... our little princess." Someone started shouting and the news channel went straight to a commercial break.

I felt tears starting to form from my eyes and I completely broke down. Jace wrapped his arms around me and held me tight to try and calm me down but it wasn't working. All I want is for this to end but it's like it never will.

"I-I'm going to die... I'm actually going to die." I laughed a little thinking about the fact that if they ever see me again, they'll kill me. Emily forced me to look at her and she slapped me right across the face.

"You're not going to die. We're gonna make this crazy shit ends one way or another. No ones dying." She started breathing in and out and I did the same and I calmed down a little.
