"We broke up you know that right?" I puffed my cheeks a little looking away from him. This is getting embarrassing.

"Yes I know... I meant when you were dating her."

"What do you mean?"

"I used to like you idiot! That day I came up to you randomly was when I was going to confess to you. But then she came from behind you and you wrapped your arm around her..." He went silent for a moment. When I looked at him he grabbed my wrist and pulled me off somewhere. I don't like this!!!

We ended up behind the school and he held me up against the wall looking deep into my eyes.

"Well if you must know, I broke up with her for you. I realized I didn't love her all that much. My heart wanted you." He caressed my cheek moving some of my hair behind my ear and his face was inches from mine. I'm seriously not liking this.

"Look Derek. I'm over you okay. I don't like you anymore and I'm not interested. So can you please leave me alone?" I noticed him smirking and before I knew it, he was kissing my neck. I closed my eyes tightly and tried pushing him off me but that just made him hold my hands against the wall. Why is he so f-ing strong?!

I then felt him let go of me and I heard a thud. I opened my eyes and saw Derek on the ground and Jace standing over him.

"Jace?" I caught his attention.

"Are you okay?" Was all he asked me. I nodded and stood behind him. Derek finally got up.

"Dude what's your problem?" He sounded really pissed off.

"She didn't like that. Were you that stupid to notice?"

"This has nothing to do with you so mind your own business." I saw Jace make his hands into fists so I stood in between him and Derek.

"Stop it!" I grabbed Jace's hand and walked away from Derek.

I went back to the table where Emily and Abigail were sitting. Our usual seat.

"Looks like you found him. What happened?" Emily looked at me a bit concerned.

"I don't want to talk about it." Was all I said and didn't eat or talk for the rest of lunch.

Classes go by and its finally the end of the day. Me and Jace agreed to hang out at a park to work on our project. Mainly cause he doesn't want me to see his house. More specifically his room for some reason. And my mom would get pissed sooo park it is!! It also feels nice cause the weather was pretty cool.

We got to the park and set our stuff down on a bench then sat down across from each other. I honestly have no idea what to say to him. All I could think about was what happened at lunch. It won't leave my head and I hate it.

"Need something to get your mind off it?" I heard Jace asked. I looked at him quickly with a confused expression on my face.

"I know you're thinking about what he did. So I'm asking if you want to get your mind off it." I sighed looking at the ground making my hair cover my face.

"I don't know if anything will. I mean, I used to like him for Gods sake! He ends up dating another girl then breaks up with her saying he wants to be with me." Jace got up and came around the table sitting next to me. I looked at him noticing his eyes were a bright red. How did I not notice this before?

"Your eyes. They're..."

"Red I know." He cut me off. I just stared at him without realizing it.

"You're not gonna kiss me are you?" I snapped back into reality.

"Wh-what? No. I was just admiring your eyes. I've never met a full-on vampire before. And to be honest, its kinda cool. Well... Depending on how mean or nice they are." We both laughed a little. Then Jace got serious.

"I wanted to say how sorry I am about the other night. That guy... Me and him... Well... We're pretty much enemies. We never got along well as kids and all he wanted to do was compete with me and use me for things. That's why he's such a jerk because he thinks he can get away with anything if he acts like he's the boss."

"He is pretty intimidating." I grabbed a strand of my hair and twirled it around my finger.

"I know."

"What exactly would he do if I interfered like that again?"

"Probably kill you." I started to get scared. "Don't worry. I won't let him hurt you." I calmed down a bit and smiled when he said that. I ended up staring into his eyes again.

"Don't kiss me." I laughed a little.

"I'm not going to calm down."

"Good."

"Anyways..." I said rolling my eyes. "You drink human blood right?" He nodded. "And, hopefully this is right, vampires with gold eyes drink animal blood."

"Correct."

"And since your eyes aren't black anymore, you drank blood and have I want to say a majority of your power."

"Yes. If I didn't, I wouldn't have been able to get that asshole off of you. I had a feeling I needed to drink some so I did."

"Well I'm glad you followed your gut feeling. Who knows what else he could've done." Silence grew between us. I hate when this happens!!!

"Anyways!!" I awkwardly laughed. "Imma just write this stuff down." I took a pencil out of my backpack and started writing all the information I know about vampires then told him we can take a break for now. I put away the poster board and we started playing around at the playground nearby. Yes its a poster board. Don't ask.

I got on a swing and Jace started pushing me. After I got high enough, he got on the swing next to me and started swinging with me.
