"As we'd expect from Rufus Lore, the scoreboard was flipped around to bring him in the lead, but seconds before the game ended, Y/n L/n decided that she could not leave the arena without giving her team one more point and launched a small example of her beautiful magic at Nalpudding, bringing her team to level out after her fluster, to 1 point! BUT SABERTOOTH TAKES THE LEAD WITH 10!" Despite that the announcer spoke to highly of me, I still only had one point. Damn. As the arena disappeared, I approached my team, allowing my hood to cast a shadow over my face shamefully. The crowd continued to boo Fairy Tail and attempt to degrade us.
"You better stop laughing at us, or else!" Natsu yelled, but they only laughed harder. My fists clenched and my body began to shake as my emotions got the better of me. I finally snapped when I looked up and saw my team's expressions. Their faces said it all. I was a failure.
"Shut up." I murmured but no one heard me. They only continued to laugh. "Shut up. Shut up. Shut up!" I started getting louder. "SHUT UP!" I screamed, spinning around, my voice sounding more like a dragon roar. I looked at everyone, seeing their fearful, or judgemental looks. I snarled before pivoting on my foot and walking away, bumping my shoulder into Laxus's. The announced continued announcing, but I didn't care. I stood in the hallway that my team had emerged from in the beginning of the games, and repeatedly thrust my fist into the wall, making it crumble along with my knuckles bleed.
I sigh, exit the hallway and return to my team with an meaningless expression on my face. I used my vines from my magic to wrap around my hands like gauze. I pulled back my hood and sat down, resting my feet after the round to watch Lucy vs. Flare. Immediately after the game began, Lucy summoned Taurus and had him attack. Bimbo. You never attack first, you wait it out until the other person attacks. At least she's trying. And I can tell she has gotten stronger!
Flare's hair wound itself around Lucy's ankle and set aflame as the two spun around, pushing and pulling each other with hair and whip. When they both fell, Lucy started to take off her boots after a few beats, building suspense. Flare screeched and forced her red locks to enter the ground, disappearing from everyone's sight. My eyebrows furrowed when I saw that Lucy was looking over at the guild, instead of at her opponent.
"What is she doing?" I whispered.
Lucy attempted to yell something but Flare's hair had wrapped itself around Lucy's mouth. "Asaka look ou-" Was what I heard. Thank you dragon hearing, you are a blessing, but occasionally a curse. I jumped to my feet, attempting to find what Lucy was looking at. Asaka.
"READY BLONDEY?!" Flare yelled, landing a hit on Lucy. Flare let out a demented laugh and started whipping the girl repeatedly, not giving her a chance to stand up and fight back. The red locks wrapped themselves around Lucy's waist and started to swing her around. Lucy did not flinch nor fight back, but she did scream in pain. All of Flare's hair turned aflame as she continued to beat her mercilessly before wrapping around her and hanging her up as though she were in chains in a dungeon. She looked so vulnerable. Poor girl.
I ran towards the rest of the guild, and saw that Natsu had the same intentions as I did as he was two steps behind me. I lunged forward, tackling the strand of hair and lighting it aflame. "SHE WAS TRYING TO PROTECT ASAKA!" Natsu yelled, signalling to Lucy that the little girl was safe.
"GEMINI!" Lucy yelled as she pulled out a key. I smirked as the blonde started to fight back, and gain the reigns in the fights. That's my girl! She she was just about to cast her spell that would have won the game, when it stopped. All of her magic and the light that surrounded her faltered and disappeared.
"Someone countered the spell!" I growled, my grip tightening on the wall in front of me. Lucy began to cry as she layed in a fetal position on the ground in the middle of the arena. Natsu and I, in sync, jumped down and approached our guild mate.
"Hey now, no crying." Natsu whispered in a calm yet unnerving voice, causing me to give him a strange look before turning my attention back to the blonde.
"I can't help it. It's just not fair." She said in between sobs.
"No, it's not. Life never is, but that's while we will pay them back a million times stronger." I tell her and kneel down in front of her, rubbing her arm all the while healing some scratches on her body. "But, you were amazing." I told her as she began to sit up. Natsu agrees with me and helps me to help the blonde stand up.
"I'm fired up." She said making me let out a laugh as we help her to the infirmary.
