"Way to suck it up out there losersss. Seriously, how could members of the great fairy tail be so pathetic. It was embarassing." A drunk Cana complained from the top of a table, a beer bottle in hand. I roll my eyes at my guild relentlessly celebrating our disastrous fail today. As I was not in the mood to drink, nor was I a heavier drinker, I sat off to the side at my own table, accompanied only by E/n. My jacket hung on the back of my chair as I leaned over the piece of parchment in front of me. My eyes flickered over my drawing, searching for any areas that needed to be fixed.
I look up at the sound of fighting, and watch with a smirk, as Natsu spars with several other guild members. Though, as a drinking competition between Cana and some man named Bacchus from Quatro Cerberus began, I returned my attention back to my drawing, finally deciding that it was completed.
I stood up and left the bar, nearly being smacked in the face by Cana's bra hanging from Bacchus's pointer finger. I nearly choke on my spit at the sight before me; a bare chested Cana, but shake it off and rush out of the bar.
E/n flew closer to me and took the collar of my shirt in his claws before he lifted me off the ground and carried me to an open field. I softly land on the grass and approach the center of the clearing. I kneel on the ground and place my drawing before me.
"Hanc imaginem caeli exaltabo eum." I start my spell as I light a flame in front of me. "Quod spirituum sit et excocta atque matched." I take my drawing and rip it into hundreds of pieces, before I tossed them into the flame. "Ad quos ego a me petere. O caelitum, testem det velle meum. Fac dextera mea tuam."
As soon as I spoke the last word, the first went out and the ashes spiraled into the air. I watch with hope as the ashes of my artwork compressed into a ball, then exploded in a burst of light. I waited patiently for my spell to work, but nothing happened.
"Did you say it correctly?" E/n whispered, to which I nodded, a single tear sliding down my cheek.
"I did everything exactly as the warlock told me." I cough out. "I guess you really can't summon ghosts." I choke on my sobs. I was about to cover my face in my hands when I heard a twig snap behind me.
I immediately summoned a sword and spun around, pressing the blade to the person's neck, only to find Sting Eucliffe of Sabertooth staring down at me with a smirk. I sigh and remove the sword, and unsummon it.
"A little on edge are we?" He mocked, making me roll my eyes and scoff at him. Before I could turn away from him, he had already caught sight of my tear stained cheeks, making his smirk falter.
"Oh, don't tell me you actually care? I didn't think Saber's actually had the capability of sympathy." I snap as I picked up E/n and placed him on my shoulder.
"Don't talk to Sting-kun like that fairy!" Sting's exceed yelled at me, making E/n growl. I pet E/n's head, signalling him to calm down.
"Tell me, Mr. Eucliffe, why are you actually here?" I ask.
"Formalities huh? And am I not allowed to be in a public field?" His shit eating smirk returned.
"Yes, formalities. Did you think we would be close enough to call each other by first name? And, you can be here, but why would you choose this specific spot in this large field? Why, when I am already here?"
"You intrigue me Y/n." He responded.
